Vehicles can be purchased with in-game cash, through obtaining Gamepasses, or by reaching Level 10 in Seasons. There are also several cars that are completely free.
A car can be stopped by shooting it with a gun or if it is driven over Road Spikes. When these things happen the tires will burst and remain popped for 10 seconds. After that time has elapsed the tires will regenerate and allow the driver to drive their vehicle again.

Play Third-Person View
Although Jailbreak plays perfectly fine in first-person view, you should consider changing your setting to third-person view. The reason for this is by zooming out you will be able to see all around yourself, which will make plenty of the situations you encounter in the game easier to handle and also help prevent nearby Police from sneaking up to you from behind.

Buy a Jetpack for Easy Robberies
If you are a Criminal you will want to make money as easily as possible without too much of a risk of being arrested and sent back to prison. One way in which you will be able to do this is by saving up the cash you loot from robberies and using it to buy a jetpack. Although the jetpack is initially expensive, you will find that it is an investment as it makes it near impossible for you to get arrested by the Police as you use it to fly around the map robbing places.
How to get a Keycard
One of the best items you can obtain in Jailbreak is a keycard as it can be used to open locked doors, this if you are a Criminal obviously comes in useful when you want to rob a bank. Getting hold of a keycard is not easy, you can kill a Police officer who will occasionally (there is a 25% chance) drop a keycard along with their pistol when they die. If you do not want to kill a Police officer, you will be able to obtain a keycard by pickpocketing them for it by holding the 'E' button on your keyboard when you are standing right beside them. The only other way of getting hold of a keycard is to find one in a cargo plane crate.
Easy Escape from Prison
An easy way to get out of the prison at the start of the game is by pickpocketing a Police officer for his keycard. If there are not too many prisoners around, you shouldn't have too much difficulty doing this. Once you have the keycard you will be able to make an easy escape from the prison via the Visitors building as Police are less likely to be hanging around there.
Pick Up Airdrops
Make sure whenever you see an airdrop in the sky, you make your way towards it. Running after airdrops may seem inconvenient, but they are worth the trouble as they are a risk-free source of cash. To find where the airdrop is going to land you simply have to listen to the beeping sound that accompanies them as this will increase in volume the closer you get to the package. Although the amount of cash you can expect to get from an airdrop will be less than in robberies, it is still worthwhile picking up.
Go to the Criminal Base after your Prison Break
As soon as you break out of prison, your first priority is to find a car and race to the nearest criminal base which is the guns shop in town which you will be able to find between the river and the Glider Store, exiting the tunnel next to the Prison. It is the first building on the left, and has a shooting target on it. Police are searching for you everywhere, which will cause you all sorts of problems, so you need to make sure you load yourself with as many weapons as you can find before you leave the hideout.
Buy Engine Upgrades
When buying car upgrades, you need to resist spending your stolen money on cosmetic upgrades that aside from looking visually appealing do absolutely nothing for your gameplay. The Monster Truck for example may look great but if you instead spend your money on engine upgrades you will discover when you reach Level 5 your car will be faster than everyone else's in the game and that is something that you can use to your advantage when getting away from the Police after a heist.
