In this game you play as Corobo a boy who found a magical crown and sceptor that lets him instantly control anyone with a single point of his sceptor. You, with the help out Howard the Bull Knight and two of your childhood friends who become your advisors, are out to for World Domination Peace. You start out as King of a small village consisting of a few people and a cow.
The graphics are well done. Everything has a childish look to it but the animations are still good. They out shine themselves during special cutscenes that have a unique hand drawn look. Graphics overall are very good and fitting for the Wii. In no way do they cut down on gameplay, instead it enhances it especially during boss battles.
The music in this game is splendid, who knew classical music could be perfect when beating up a drunkard or knocking around a fat round dude? The music choice for each area is perfect. And very rarily is there a problem with it. Never gets boring or repetetive. As for effects? Most sounds are the same only differing by pitch. Special attacks get special sounds luckily. Acouple of times there are misshaves or cut offs but it never becomes a bother. Voice acting is perfect nothing much else to say about it.
The gameplay is a bit like pikmin, instead of you yourself being on the front lines, you sending your loyal servants to do all the work. You play as Corobo in a journey to unite the world, to do that you must defeat 7 other rival kings along with defeating Boss UMA to expand your kingdom. Each king has a very unque battle, each being very challenging. Besides that you will also be completing quests from your citizens and rescuing princesses, obtain one after you defeat a king; and of course figuring out the earthquake mystery. Your citizens of course will be helping, whether they want to or not, by taking on different careers and following you wherever you go. (Ex. Soldiers, farmers, cooks, lumberjacks) The controls are simple and easy to learn, while the camera rarely causes problems.
The game itself is quite long and fun to play. You start out on either Easy or normal. Beating it once unlocks Tyrant mode, a much harder mode compared to normal. Very good game to play over, has alot of quests that can be done. Completing them gives you money and items. Money is needed to buy upgrades. If you beat it once it is fun to play over and try to complete all the princess quests. Each being very challenging. One of the best reasons to replay it is to get to rematch each of the Rival kings.
Well overall this is a great game, obviously worth a buy. Might want to rent it first just in case though. Though most people think this is a childs game due to graphic style and princess concept, it isn't. Anyone, any age, can play it and enjoy it. Once again the Kings are very fun and sometimes extremely aggravating to do. One is basically pinball, another an questionarre, and another a race. If you are looking for a new game to try out and own a Wii I HIGHLY recommend this. You wil love it!
