Organise Buildings
Although you are not restricted where you can construct buildings you do need to keep in mind that you will not be able to complete building a structure if there is no raod access to the area you selected. A road icon will above your constuction site to indicate that you need to build roads in order for the building to be completed. It is important that you plan ahead where you are going to place your roads as you will want your trucks to have the shortest path to their destination.
Task Shortcuts
When you are upgrading a building and learn that some of the prerequisites have not been met you can tap on the button next to the requirement you are missing to automatically go there. Take advantage of this feature to quickly line up tasks without getting sidetracked and reduce the time you spend scrolling around the map.
Supply Crates
Whenever you see that your trucks are idle scroll around your base to search for crates and then tap on them to have one of your trucks drive out and pick up the free supplies they contain.
Join an Alliance
One of the first things you should consider doing is join an active Alliance. Being part of an alliance will allow you to consult veteran members and also allows you to recieve regular rewards for being active. The biggest advantage though is being able to ask members of your Alliance to help speed up construction or research on your base.
Teleport
Once you have joined an Alliance you will be able to use the free Teleport. Being able to move to where your allies are will make it easier for you to send and recieve reinforcements. You will find being able to do this important once your beginners protection shield dissapers and you become open to raids from other players.
Troops
When you tap on the 'World' button on the lower right corner of your screen you will be taken to the the world map where you will be able to see locations of neighboring bases, resource, and zombies. From here you will be able to plan your raids on bases that are not members of your Alliance or to attack zombies. Whatever it is you decide to do it is important that you keep sending your toops out in order to maintain a steady flow of resources and EXP for your base.
Make sure you periodically check your mail for notifications the game sends you, some of these will be announcements or combat reports that give you information while others will be rewards you have earned for completing tasks. It is important that you check your mail frequently as some of these rewards will expire after a certain amount of time if they are left unclaimed. If you have a message waiting for you a red dot will appear on the mail icon to inform you.
