Learn the Game by Completing Contracts

If you are struggling with Knockout City and want to learn the intricacies of the game quickly, the best way to do so is to focus on the Contracts that become available when you join a Crew. These are basically in-game achievements that give you a reward to work towards but also revolve around many of the game's fundamental skills, which makes completing them a great way to learn the game.

Play as a Team

Knockout City is a team based game where passing the ball and working together with your teammates is the key to winning the game and rising up the leaderboards. Always look to pass the ball to your teammates, so you can chain together perfect catches and charge the ball to the max, so you can then use it to perform some fast-paced effective plays that can catch the opposing team off guard.

Return to Sender

An important ability in Knockout City which you is essential that you master is Return to Sender. When you catch a ball from an enemy and then throw it back to them again within 1 second, you will throw the ball back to them faster than the last throw. You can keep doing this back and forth with the opponent until the ball becomes too fast for you or the enemy to catch where at which point either your opponent or yourself if you are unable to catch the ball will get knocked out. If you feel you will not be able to catch the ball, you need to dodge out of the way.

Chain Together Perfect Catches

In Knockout City you will earn 1 charge for catching the ball, however by doing the perfect catch which is indicated on the screen you are able to chain together multiple perfect catches which will make the ball come at you at faster speeds each time. This is a great way to take down an opponent fast as a fully charged ball will one shot the enemy. A ball is charged to the max after 6 charges.

Communicate with your Team

As there are only a few players on your team it is essential that you cooperate with them and try to devise a strategy, whether it's travelling as a pack, or simply calling out to each other when in need of help. It is important that you do this as it is impossible to win a round of Knockout City as a lone wolf. Listed below are the various game modes in Knockout City and the number of players each team has.

- Team KO: 3v3 (6 players total)
- Face-Off: 1v1 (2 players total)
- Diamond Dash: 3v3 (6 players total)
- KO Chaos: 4-player free-for-all (no teams)
- Ball-Up Brawl: 4v4 (8 players total

Join a Crew to get Rewards

In Knockout City you can join or create a Crew, and it is recommended that you consider doing so as it gives you access to special contracts to complete. This is basically unlocking items from the battle pass style progression system the game uses. There can be up to 32 players in a Crew and you will get the reward providing you log in during the week the contract is completed.

Get Familiar with the Maps

Each of the maps in Knockout City has their own unique feature and discovering the intricacies of each of them is a necessity, so you can figure out how to use them to your advantage. Just as important is familiarizing yourself with the dodgeball spawn locations. Each map has a few designated areas where you can expect a ball to appear and knowing where they are will give you an advantage as a player who knows how to find a loose dodgeball can always be on the attack.

Pay Attention to Enemy Animations

In Knockout City it is important that you pay attention to enemy animations as doing so will enable to find an opening where you will be able to attack them when they aren't expecting it or unable to react. Be mindful that there is always the possibility that your enemies will perform fake shots to try and catch you off guard, so make sure you pay attention to every animation.

Take Advantage of Trick Shots

Doing the twirls and flips and releasing the ball as you do them enables you to perform two trick shots in Knockout City. The first is a curveball which allows you to throw the ball around corners and objects to hit enemies who are unreachable with a normal throw. The second is a lob which can clear objects vertically and can be used to hit enemies that are out of your line of sight, but you know where they are positioned. Using these two moves chained together with a fake pass will make you very unpredictable. Use trick shots to your advantage whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Keep Moving

It is crucial that you do not get hit in Knockout City as you will be taken down after a couple of hits. To avoid being hit you need to keep moving by taking advantage of the moves you have available to make yourself an elusive target that is difficult to hit. This means you need to run, jump, twirl, flip, and glide at every opportunity.
