Judgment Cheats and Tips

PlayStation 4
Last Updated: by Dennis

Judgment is an action-adventure game that is standalone spin-off of the Yakuza series. The game is played from a third-person perspective and follows private detective Takayuki Yagami as he investigates a serial murder case. Check out our Judgment cheats and tips if you need help running around the neon streets of Kamurocho, beating up thugs while trying to master side activities.

Cheats, Tips and Strategy

Below is a collection of hints and tips that will help you to progress in the game. These include exploring the city of Kamurocho and replenishing your health.

Kamurocho Distractions

Try not to let the neon lights of Kamurocho distract you, the city streets are full of things like arcades, casinos, restaurants and drone races which makes it very easy to fall into the trap of being distracted. Remember that you have a case to solve. There is a solution to this, focus primarily on working the case as Judgment gives you breaks during the main story to return later and have some fun in the city.

Exploring the City

At the start of the game you will discover that some characters and locations of Kamurocho will not be accessible. During the course of the game as you are sent all over the city these things will gradually begin to unlock. This includes the locksmithing side job and the second secret casino. You just basically need to be patient and let the game play out naturally.

Stock Up on Food

You heal in Judgment from food so make sure that whenever you are between fights or cases you enter into one of the many Poppo convenience stores found in Kamurocho to replenish your health. You will not be able to do this during the middle of a fight so you need to ensure you are always carrying multiples of the snacks you buy there.

Med Kits

Most of your healing will comve via the snacks you get from Kamurocho's Poppo shops but when it comes to healing mortal wounds you will find that Med Kits are the best healing items in the game. The problem with Med Kits though is they are expensive (starting at 20,000 yen) and difficult to come by, the only place in the game you can get them being the underground Moroboshi Clinic.

Low Health

It is important that you constantly fill your inventory with every food item you can and whenever you can to prevent your health getting too low. In the event that your health drops uncomfortably low you can open your phone menu and keep selecting items to eat until you have refilled it.

Finish Fights Quick

It is inevitable that you will get into a lot fights as it is part of the main storyline. Although you have the option to run way it is better to fight as it will earn you SP which is needed to unlock skills and cash which you need at shops for bribes. Try and finish fights as quickly as possible, use your EX abilities to deal some extra damage.

Earn Extra Cash

To pay for food at shops, upgrade your drone for racing, or to pay the bribes required to progress the main story all requires payment in cash. The few thousand yen you get from the random encounter street fights will not be enough, the way to get it is to do the Side Cases which you can pick up from the bulletin board in your office, the bartender at the bar Tender, and from Saori in the Genda Law Offices. Although these side missions take time they are worthwhile doing for the amount of cash you can earn from them.

Unlock Special Skills

The SP you earn during the game is used to unlock skills for Yagami. Under the 'Skills' app on your phone there are three categories of skills to unlock, these are Ability, Battle, and Special, and each effect Yagami in a different way. Ability skills raise his base stats like health and the amount of alcohol he can consume, Battle skills unlock new combat moves he can use in fights, and Special skills basically cover everything else from lockpicking to tailing someone. To begin with focus on unlocking the Special skills such as Invisible Man, Target Locked, and Silent Destroyer as these will enable you to stay out of sight and follow someone without them knowing which will make the cases that involve tailing someone a lot more easier.

Detective's Hunch Skill

One Special skill that is particularly useful that you should unlock as soon as possible is the Detective's Hunch skill which will make your controller vibrate whenever you hover over a clue while searching a crime scene.
