Try and resist the temptation to swipe anywhere near the board when building up speed as this will alter it's direction if you accidentally touch it. The best way to build up speed is to keep your fingers right at the edge and just tap the space either side of the board which recognises your touch.
You can modify your skateboards with new decals or wheel colours by spending True Credits you have earned.
You do not have to go swipe crazy to attain full speed, a few swipes on the ground is usually enough for you to reach full speed.
When you are doing a mission where you 'follow the path to the finish' do the opposite and don't follow the path. Then just before the game hits 0% do a trick and while in the air tap 'Restart'. Doing this will restart the game but also finishes the game giving you 100% and Gold.
This maneuver is performed by building up enough speed to perform an ollie and then when you are in the air making sure you balance the board out as quickly as possible so that you land on the rail as perfectly horizontal as you can. If you do this correctly you will be able to ride the length of the rail, remember to be ready to readjust your positioning when you land.
The most effective way of scoring lots of points is to do combo tricks. While you are in your line look to do a jumping trick and land on a rail, a ledge, or something else that will allow you to continue doing your tricks through grinding. Once you have done a trick skate into another trick to continue your combo, keep repeating the process to increase your combo score.
Make smaller tricks much easier to control by being gentle with your swipes and slides. If you are doing pop-shove its however you will need to tap hard and catch fast.
If you press the little movie icon that is located at the top of the screen you will zoom out, doing this will enable you to get a better idea of what is coming up. Remember to zoom back in otherwise you will find it hard trying to manipulate the skateboard.
Try to build a consistent line by not stopping or crashing into anything while at the same time pulling off as many tricks as you can until the line time runs out. Doing this successfully will earn you plenty of points.
To get up steps you need plenty of speed behind you and you deliver a gentle flick from the middle of the board towards the rear so you leap in the air. Then while in the air you need to balance out the skateboard before it lands which may require adding some directional steer.
To be successful in this mission try to be as on top of the ghost board's shadow as you can be and don't stray off course otherwise you will lose percentage points rapidly.

Take your time in Sandbox mode and at least master the basic tricks before attempting missions otherwise you will find them too difficult to complete, especially at Gold level.
To earn a bronze medal you need to get a 70% accuracy rating, 85% for silver, and 100% for gold. Getting the gold medal is tough as the mission requires precision tuning.
This trick is performed by building up some speed and then making a very small swipe from the end of the tail to the bottom of the screen. When you are up in the air you need to rebalance and get ready to gently tease the mid-point of the board so that it aligns correctly with the ground.
To perform a jump you must ensure that your first contact with the screen is either the tip or the tail of the board. This will then enable you to swipe towards any part of the screen. The rotation of the board is directly related to both where you start touching it, and the direction of the swipe.
For this trick to work you need to get your skateboard dead-centre on the lip so it is directly between the left and right-hand wheels. Once you have accomplished this you will be able to grind the edges of the basin for as long as you want before you decide to either steer off or perform an ollie.
