Water is just as deadly as lava so you will need to use the little platform that floats back and forth across the moat to pass safely over it. This platform is actually a little bigger than it looks so you do not need to be super accurate getting on it.
Whenever you see a shaking wall it is to indicate that it is a hollow wall about to collapse.
When you enter a room and you cannot see an escape you will need to wait a few seconds for the hollow wall to collapse and reveal the way out.
When you enter a room use your peripheral vision to identify the blue glow of the escape and the movement patterns of the traps and then focus your concentration on reaching it.
The key to being successful in this game in the later stages when the lava flows faster is to not hesitate. If you stop and wait for the traps to clear up when you enter a new room you have no chance, you need to act immediately.
