Bonus Items
During the mid-run boss battles bonus items are saved. Collecting a bonus item just before reaching the Eggman section will result in it's timer stopping from counting down and continuing again when you reach the next section. This will only happent to items like springs that will not benefit you during the Eggman section, other items like the magnet for example will remain in effect.
