The second of the hidden characters you unlock is Hipster Whale. To unlock Hipster Whale choose the Crossy Chicken as your character and when the words 'Crossy Bones Approaching' appears on screen during a random boss battle defeat the boss and die afterwards.

Make sure you purchase Sir Oink-a-Lot as your sidekick whenever possible as you can earn double the amount of coins that you pick up during battle when you have him. You will still get the 2x coin bonus regardless of which character you use after purchasing him.

The first and easiest of the hidden characters to unlock is Pew Pew Pew. Using any character choose the Old West background and repeatedly press your finger on the screen of your device. Keep doing this to fire your gun until you get Pew Pew.

The third of the hidden characters you unlock is Sparkles the unicorn. To get Sparkles destroy the Nylan Cat-like feline that appears on a TV set firing rainbows at you and then get killed.

When you have finished a round a button will appear on screen that says 'Free Coins'. If you press the button you will be asked to watch an advertisement video which will earn you 125 to 250 coins after you have seen it.

Make sure you visit the weapons menu whenever possible to buy new weapons with coins like the Homing Missles and Honey Badger or watch videos to get power-ups like double shots and quad shots.

Makes sure you shoot the blue treasure boxes whenever you see them and collect whatever is inside as you will need all the help you can get to defeat the bosses. Inside the blue treasure boxes you will find sidekick characters like the goose, the rabbit, and the pug and power-ups.

The best strategy is to eliminate the largest opponents first as their projectiles reach the furthest.

To progress in this game you need to employ hit-and-run tactics, this is because you cannot shoot down the projectiles or bullets that are being fired at you and if you get hit by them it is the end of your run.

When your character has been killed you will recieve a free gift, this will only happen once every 6 hours. You can bypass the wait time by setting the time on your device ahead 6 hours. This can be done as many times as you desire to get the free gifts but remember that once you set the time of your device back to normal you will not recieve another free gift until 6 hours after the last time you set your device to.

The only way that you can unlock this secret character is by making an in-app purchase. When you unlock Sir Oinks-A-Lot you will double the number of coins your earn regardless of which character you are playing as.

Upgrades are not permanent, make sure that when you pay to upgrade your guns you plan to use them immediately thereafter as you will only benefit from them the upgrade for a couple of hours before you lose it.

An effective way of eliminating large foes or swarms of smaller opponents is to use charged shots to take them down.

You will no longer be able to directly control your plane when you lift your finger from the screen during gameplay. It will though begin charging your guns.

You will be given an opportunaty to win a new character once you have earned 500 coins or achieved a certain milestone. The background of the game may change when you unlock a new character but the mechanics of the game will remain the same.
