How do you fuse? I have a + 700 fuse coin and every time I click on "fuse" it takes me to a screen that won't do anything

You need a upgradeable cannon or hull to choose as "Base", then place your +700 fuse coin on one of the "Select Equipment to be fused".
How does fusing work? A small cannon say power 12 counts as much as a 36 or 400? Any advice on getting the upgradable 750s o 900s up to 1850 ???
