How do you put all the stars down in seeing stars before the first flag appears? It's hard

What I did was I put down 2 sunflowers and then put 1 star fruit on each lane then filled the empty/non-marked spots with sunflowers to get a lot of sun. P.S: My way works more efficiently with the imitator selected as a star fruit.
