How do you kill the seadragon outside the viking cave by gnome village?

You don't need to kill the dragon. Run away and go through the temple to the far left. You can walk there from the Viking cave. You don't need the ship yet. Go through the dragon statue with one eye into the cave and defeat the rat who is protecting the other eye. He's in one of the holes in that cave.
Killing the dragon is not necessary, your main quest is to boat yourself to the castle, which you have to kill the boss Rat whom steals the one of the eye of the dragon. So it clearly states that> ancient dragon of the sea is awake due to the statue eye been stolen by a Giant Rat> angry> players kill the giant rat> get the eye back> sea dragon returned to sleep> Quest complete
