How to get gem boxes?

My cousin get at them all the time he says he only removes the small obstacles nothing that cost over 1000 elixer. I'm starting to try it.

Gem boxes randomly spawn in villages. The trick is to get the gem box spawning in the center so that it is easier to protect. This is good as it protects the Gems and prevents opponents from taking them, however, sometimes it is good to remove the gem box as it can encourage strong attackers. Gem boxes can not be raided. Some people say you can but you can't. Attackers can't get them and if you attack so,ebony you will not get them

Official answer as follows.....
Gem boxes randomly spawn in your village every week or if your unlucky once a month. When cleared they will grant you 25 Gems nothing more nothing less and this cannot be glitched, also they cannot be raided, they are treated as an obstic until cleared. The developers don't believe it to be fair if you can raid gem boxes.

Yes there is a pattern, anything that's computer generated always has an algorithm behind it. It looks random to the common folk who isnt aware of that kind of logic. The question is: who knows the algorithm of gem box spawn frequency? Is it after 10,15,25,30 defenses?

I often gets a gem box every game level, and usually I clear out all bushes, stones, trees etc.

It is purely random. I cleared the gem box and within 10 hours another had appeared and then nothing for three weeks.

Simple keep all type of obstacles unremoved you will get you're gem box faster

Does donation increases the chance to get a gem box?

Question: Assuming I get a gem box every month. If I don't harvest it will I get a new one every month. And if I don't harvest them for example one year so after a year will I have 12 gem boxes or only one?
