Just curious about a way to gain diamonds quickly and free better than just going all over the map

Other than buying them, there is no quicker way. You can only get Diamonds through defending your base and looking on the map. The cheat about free diamonds is a scam.

There is no such thing, there were glitches before when it came out, but now if you go to any website claiming that they'll give you free Diamonds as a cheat or some other form it wont work. You'll always be asked to fill out a survey that just wastes your time. Trust me. I've spent the last 7 hours of my night looking for a way to get those diamonds.
