Narrow Lines
Narrow lines tend to be more difficult to aim but your ninja will be able to jump higher off of them. Narrow lines are best used when you need to go a long distance in a short period of time.

Wide Lines
You will find that using wider lines will make it a lot easier for you to aim your ninja with. Use wide lines when you have a group of obstacles and enemies that you have to jump past.

Speed Boosts
Drawing short, straight lines will make you do short jumps that can make you reach the highest heights quickly as it causes your ninja to be wrapped in a 'sonic boom' animation as he rockets upwards at maximum speed. Speed boosts are best performed in calm areas that do not have a lot going on.

Save Falling Ninja
If you act quickly enough and draw another line when you misjudge your ninja's fall trajectory the first line you draw will disappear and your new line will hopefully save your ninja.

Descent Rope
It's difficult to tell where your ninja will go until he reaches the apex of his jump so make sure you watch his climb to so you are able to catch him by drawing a rope under him as he begins his descent.

Rope Length
The jump height is determined by the length of the rope, basically short ropes are for higher jumps and long ropes for longer slower jumps. Make sure you become familiar with the length of the rope and the type of swing that goes with it as you will encounter areas that are full of enemies and objects which you will have to carefully navigate through.

Steer
It is important to be successful that you learn how to steer your ninja around problem areas so he can avoid hazzards like cranes, UFOs, and enemy shinobi. Try not to just draw straight ropes, practice with angled ropes so you are able to send your ninja flying to the right or left. The sharper the rope's incline, the faster the ninja will fly in that direction.
