Slow down enemies by activating the seals on the stages so it gives your towers more time to maul them.
When you reach a level that you find yourself struggling against after a dozen or so attempts you may want to consider going back and replaying old stages. Make sure that you have earned three stars on each of the stages as the more stars that you earn on a stage the more upgrade you will be able to purchase which in turn will improve your performance.
It is more benefical to upgrade a tower rather than have a large quantity of them. To upgrade a tower tap the '+' button to bring up the 'Upgrades' menu and then tab back and forth between your skills and your towers using the two tabs located at the upper right corner of your screen. Get into the habit of regularly upgrading your towers.
A good strategy is to set your towers close to your territory and work your way back so that your tower hits as many enemies as possible with their range, this tactic is particularly effective where paths fork.
Before you decide to build any kind of towers it is advised that you press the pause button followed by the 'i' info button and see what type of enemies you can expect to encounter and then base your decisions around that.
The arrow towers are effective against flying enemies.
Although they fire slowly the cannon towers are very effective against little enemies that roam around in swarms, this is because of the enormous amount of splash damage they inflict.
It is important that you have mage towers as they are used all the time. Mage Towers are specifically designed for use against strong single enemies that are bound to the ground and are heavily armoured.
