A risky strategy which you should only contemplate if you have plenty of health across the team as it involves missing a turn is to deliberately make a match failure if it means that when it is next your turn you will be able to complete a huge match-up.

When you are given the option between match-ups that are equal always select the one that will cause a cascade of matches to occur straight afterwards. This will allow you to benefit from bonus health or attacking power across the team without using up one of your turns.

Make a point of keeping an eye on your health bar during battle as it is easy to lose track of the amount of health you have remeaining. You need to survive every single wave of a mission in one sitting so if you find your health is getting low you can top it up with pink match-ups every now and then.

Study the board carefully before you attack and look to see if you can make any large matches because the bigger the match the more beneficial it will be for your attacking power or health restoration.
