Always use stun takedowns. This type of takedown makes no noise and they will still make the body of your foe disappear as though dead. Stun takedowns also give you more Experience points.

Always roll between cover points when there's an enemy in sight as performing this action will render you completely invisible to them. Take advantage of this action to sneak around the battlefield.

It is not necessary to fight every foe you encounter. There will be times where the best tactic will be to save your ammo and energy and just sneak past them. You should definitely consider employing this strategy if you are hoplessly outnumbered.
