Mixing up long-range and mele fighters can produce effective attacks in the single-player campaign but with live players you should stick to deploying your troops accordingly as some types of fighters take more Battle points to deploy than others.

Although you can net some resources from victories in the single-player campaign the real profits come from attacking and defeating other players in the live challenges. Don't enter the live challengers though until you feel confident you know what you are doing. You can keep resources well-stocked early in the game by just playing the single-player campaign.

When you have targeted an enemy always use the option to scout the area before attacking. Knowledge of the area will help you in battle when the countdown for battle begins.

It is important that you upgrade your banks and barns as soon as you can so they are able to store more money and supplies. This will help prevent for example drawing a card for a big gold infusion and the bank in not able to hold it.

One of the first things you need to do is focus on upgrading your courthouse by a couple of levels as this will open up myriad building and upgrade options.

When you merge four or more similar cards you will recieve an upgrade that will make that fighter more powerful. Merging weaker cards will also free up space in your camp.

When you are getting low on resources you can axe trees for supplies and explode rocks for gold. Doing this will also clear space for your buildings but keep in mind that chopping down trees costs gold and blowing up rocks costs supplies.

Regularly check the level map even if you do not intend to make an attack as there is always a chance that you will find some free diamonds there waiting to be claimed.

If you select the 'theatre cart' that sometimes parks near the entrance of your base you will be given the option to 'watch a show'. If you watch the advert you will receive cards, gold, supplies and other useful items for free.

Every two hours you can draw for a new card at your saloon so make a point of checking in regularly so you don't miss out. The quality of your draws an be increased if you pay gold and supplies but you will still have to wait for the countdown to finish before you can pick your card.
