Use your nitro on the straights in the track where it is most effective to help you get ahead of the pack and ram into your opponent to take them down, each takedown you complete will earn you a little more boost energy.

The best strategy when you have saved up enough money for upgrades is to opt for the Handling upgrade first so you increase the control, then go for Top Speed followed by Nitro and Acceleration.

You can increase the amount of air time you achieve by using the nitro just before getting on a platform and performing barrel rolls.

Try and drift around corners as much as possible so you avoid having to slow down too much.

When you reach the end of the race and you have a nitro make sure you use it then to either maintain or get the lead.

Try to save your nitro for straightaways where it can be used to it's fullest potential.
