Choosing a Location
Once you are have equipped your guns, gear and dog you can select from one of six different locations. These have been grouped into three geographical areas. There are two Colorado locations, two in Texas, and two European hunting grounds. You will discover that each location has different geography and animals.
Bring the Right Dog
In Hunting Simulator 2 it is important that you bring along the right dog for the job. You are able to choose to hunt without any companions but it is more beneficial to have them as they are useful for small prey, and if you're going to hit your bag limit, they will expedite the process by retrieving, pointing, and following scent trails.
Track your Quarry
Like in real life hunting you need to be patient as you track down your quarry. You will be spending most of your walk staring at the ground a few feet in front of you, following animal tracks, examining piles of poop, and looking at puddles of pee. Try not to be distracted by the beautiful scenery.
Types of Animals
There are all sorts of animals in Hunting Simulator 2, these include small game, big game, water fowl, and predators and it provides a wide range of prey for you to hunt. To add diversiy the animals also come in juveniles, adults and older animals and each has their own specific look and body shape. There is also over 100 horns and antlers. Each species can only be found in their natural habitat.
Animals in Hunting Simulator 2 tend to move around in groups. Be careful when you approach as they can see you, smell you, and hear you. If you are spying the animals will flee and you will find it difficult to take the perfect shot. Like in real life animals have a routine, you may find them eating, drinking at water sources, resting or moving between their favourite areas. You will find animals at different parts of the map depending on the time of the day. Each species will react differently to your presence or to a predator.
