Here are our best cheats and tips for the VR game, Horizon Call of the Mountain
Moving around in VR can be a steep curve especially to those who are just trying out the technology right now. Horizon: Call of the Mountain offers two different movement options that players should try out early in the playthrough to help them decide which is better for them.
The first option is to use the conventional analog-stick system. This gives players a more familiar albeit basic feel (somewhat ruins the immersion of VR). However, aside from ease of use, this option makes combat very manageable, enabling players to perform effortless evasive maneuvers.
When playing third-person view titles, you'll have a good view of items around your character. However, in VR, you'll need to really keep an eye out for enemies, crafting materials, traversal points, and other objects of interest. These objects and spots can be challenging to spot if you don't know where to look but thankfully, the game has obvious visual cues that will help you adapt to the game's visual style and gameplay direction. You'll also have access to the Focus ability that scans the immediate area around you to find clues, scan enemies to highlight their weaknesses, and more.
There are several action-packed sections in the game and it is not a great experience to find out that you're not prepared enough to get through a section comfortably. As such, I highly suggest crafting items and different elemental arrows regularly so you're ready to deal with different enemy types. You should also craft several types of traps and deploy them before engaging enemies when there's an opportunity to do so.
The bow is the player's trusty and most versatile weapon in the game. That's why prioritizing upgrading it is highly recommended. By upgrading it, you can increase its damage, handling, and accuracy. Complement this further with bow-centric abilities and skills.
You can also craft various elemental arrows that can be used against specific types of enemies to deal elemental damage and trigger interesting elemental effects. There are three basic arrow types:
General combat strategies in Horizon: Call of the Mountain doesn't deviate that much in the base game. For example, you can still defeat enemies by hitting their weak points (which usually emit a red light) or in the case of larger enemies, break off their components to disable certain abilities and deal higher damage to them.
In the game, you'll do a lot of exploration, traversal, and puzzle solving. If you're stuck on where to go and what to do next, you can just take a breather and look around. The game offers a lot of visual clues like brightly-colored objects that you can interact with. Same with traversing various buildings and cliff-faces. There will be tools that are perfect for the job and you may need to manually select the right tool.
