Work as a Team

Hood: Outlaws and Legends is a team game and the key to being successful is helping your allies at every turn to overcome potential problems. Before you begin a heist make sure you check the class of each player in your team, so you are aware of their strengths and weaknesses.

It is essential that your team communicates with each other, so you can coordinate attacks that strike the enemy team at the same time. The team can also help each other by marking the position of important objects, such as doorways, ropes, ladders, and ammo boxes.

Don't Rush

Every successful action in Hood: Outlaws and Legends awards XP and gold towards your final score and there will be occasions where the most effective strategy to steal the chest isn't a quick one so if this is the case you need to be patient as the team works towards it's goal.

A successful heist will involve scouting the map, securing favorable spawn points, and picking off guards with silent assassinations to clear the way. Although you will lose out on bonus points for finding the key and collecting the chest first you will place yourself in a better position to win the end game if you plan things carefully and don't rush.

Avoid the Sheriff

The first objective of every heist is the Sheriff as he has the key for the Vault which you need to access to steal the Chest. The Sheriff unlike the guards is immune to your damage and will take you down with one hit. This means the only way you are going to get the key off of him is by stealing it. It is therefore crucial when you attempt to steal the key you move slowly and quietly to avoid being spotted. If you are not trying to steal the key you should stay as far away as you can from the Sheriff.

Stay Hidden

Don't try and go straight for the Sheriff to find the key and vault when a heist begins as there is a lot of ground to cover and if you get seen by guards your surrounding area will be placed in lockdown, this means gates being closed and reinforcements filling the area looking for you. This is something you need to avoid at all costs.

The best strategy is to sneak around undetected as this allows you to move freely while you search for the key. By slipping between enemies performing quiet assassinations when necessary you will be able to stay hidden while you move through areas to reach the objective

Know your Role in the Heist

It is important that you understand the objectives in each Heist match and that your team are all on the same page as to what their responsibilities are. This means in order to successfully win the match it is essential that you all communicate with each other. The objectives in each Heist match break down as follows:

- Locate the Sheriff and pickpocket the key.

- Open the vault and grab the treasure chest.

- Bring the treasure chest to an extraction point.

- Make sure that the extraction point is a spot that you can easily defend, and that it's close to your team?s default spawn area.

- Use the winch to extract the treasure chest.

Do the Daily Challenges

You have three Daily Challenges every day in Hood: Outlaws and Legends and successfully completing all the tasks will enable you to earn bonus gold and XP. You can access these Daily Challenges by going to the table on the right of the 'Character Select' statues.

These challenges are usually simple tasks that are worthwhile taking the time to complete in order to get the rewards they give. Daily Challenges will include things like stealing a key from a sheriff or opening a set number of doors.

Form a Balanced Team

The best team you can form in Hood: Outlaws and Legends is a balanced one as having one character from each class will provide you with the most options during a match as each of the four different available classes has a specific play style with unique abilities.

The four different classes are:

Ranger
Robin Hood is the ranger class, he is able to spot/tag enemies from far away and can take them down with a well-placed arrow.

Hunter
Marianne is the hunter class, she is small in stature and her ability to turn invisible magic makes her a deadly assassin.

Brawler
Little John is the brawler class, he has the strength to open alternate routes and can carry the heavy chest.

Mystic (Tooke)
Tooke is the Mystic class, he is a support character who is able to heal and buff teammates whenever possible

Each character class also has passive abilities which you should look to take advantage of at every opportunity and combine with other players abilities to form effective strategies in given situations. Unfortunately trying to form a balanced team when you enter a lobby and are matched with random gamers you do not know who are reluctant to communicate on voice chat can sometimes be impossible.

Best Character Class

The best character in Hood: Outlaws and Legend is Marianne who as the Hunter class has a blend of melee and ranged combat. Her crossbow can fire up to three rapid shots at once whilst doubling up as a blade when hitting enemies up close. She can carry a total of nine bolts at a time, which is three fully-charged shots.

Marianne is small in stature, very agile, and has the ability to turn invisible which makes her the perfect assassin. Melee kills and assassinations both instantly put bolts back into Marianne's inventory, and she can also pick bolts up after using them. Finding ammo crates will instantly give her full max ammo.
