Gundam Evolution is a free-to-play first-person shooter where you take control of Mobile Suits from the Gundam anime series and challenge other players online in six versus-six objective battles. The world of Gundam Evolution is always evolving with a continuous flow of new maps, units, customization items and game modes to explore.
Below is a collection of hints and tips that will help you to progress in the game. These include why it is important to consider the map before selecting your Mobile Suit and why it is essential to continually communicate with your team. As well as these hints and tips, we also have a Beginners Guide here which goes into more details on some of the tips we have below:
When making your Mobile Suit selection it is important that you take into consideration the map the match is going to take place on. Every Mobile Suit will excel in a certain situation and picking a character that will thrive on the map you are going to play on will give you an advantage.
If it is an indoor map with plenty of enclosed spaces and multiple spawn points that allow for easy flanking opportunities a good choice will be Zaku 2. Whereas if it is a wide-open map a good choice is GM Sniper 2 as this Mobile Suit excels at covering bottlenecks from far away which means you don't have to worry about retaliation.
You will discover that certain Mobile Suits excel against different enemies, and it is these matchups which you should look to take advantage of. An example of this is the long-range GM Sniper II which can easily take out mid-range targets but will suffer once put up against an enemy that is able to fast flank at close range.
A good strategy in Gundam Evolution if you are familiar with all the Mobile Suits is to recognize the areas that your team is lacking and then fill them. If you notice that your team is composed of squishy damage dealers you may want to consider a tanky Mobile Suit in order to get some of the fire off them. Check out our Mobile Suit Tier List to find out what the best Mobile Suits are in Gundam Evolution.
To be successful in Gundam Evolution it is crucial that you communicate with your team on the fly. The game has a built-in voice chat and also includes a ping system that you can use to ping enemies to mark them or ping objectives to signal that you want to attack. By working together your team will be able to prioritize objectives and take down high-priority threats more effectively.
G-Maneuvers are powerful ultimate abilities that charge up over the course of the match. Resist the temptation to hang onto them for the best possible scenario as this will likely never happen. It is far more beneficial if you use your ultimates to help the team during the match in sub-par situations than not using them at all.
