Introduction

Yet another game in the Guitar Hero series.

Just like all games, you play guitar by holding fret buttons and strumming when the on-screen notes enter what is known as "the strike zone".
But unlike previous games, there is also a slider bar.

This GH game is by far better then any previous games, though the songs seem a little bit more difficult. They do have another difficulty level though.

Throughout the rest of the review, I will explain graphics, sound, gameplay, and lastability of this game. I will then give my opinion on whether or not this game is worth the money and if you should or shouldn't buy it.
I hope you find it helpful.

Graphics

The graphics on World Tour are the same as the other GH graphics.

The star power effects look great. It really enhances game play whenever you are in Star Power Mode. The character graphics are the same. They look a little sloppy, but you usually don't pay attention to the characters.

Whenever you complete a star power chain, you get a lightning strike on the last note of the chain. It looks pretty good, but the bolt looks a little 2D.
The graphics are also in sync with the sound. When you hit a note, you get a sound at exactly the same time.

Sound

The sound quality is great and the sound effects are great.

There are over 80 songs on this game, and each one is awesome. You have songs from great bands like Paramore, Tokio Hotel, Linkin Park, and Jimi Hendrix.
You have great songs like American Woman, BYOB, and Livin' on a Prayer.

The menu music is a song that you can pay in-game, so nothing new there.
The sound effects are awesome. When you hit a note, you get a great sound effect. When you complete a Star Power Chain, you get an amazing sound effect that matches perfectly.

When you are in Star Power Mode, the song echoes a little bit. This adds a really cool effect to the game.
The vocals in the songs don't sound crappy at all.

One great feature in this game is that you can change the volume of each instrument and the background vocals. Really awesome if you think the bass is too loud.

Gameplay

The gameplay in World Tour is great, and you have a ton of different modes to play in. Your band even gets it's own logo and name.

You have the usual career mode. It has different choices in it though.

SINGLE: Choose guitar, bass, drums, or vocals. Then you choose the difficulty (either beginner, easy, medium, hard, or expert). Then you get to choose your 'rocker' (who you play as). You can even make your own. Then you get to choose any one of the songs.
BAND: Play online with a band by either joining or hosting. You can also play a career with your friends. You need at least two controllers though.
TRAINING: Follow some tutorials to help you with the game, also practice songs that you can't seem to beat. When in practice mode, you choose a song, then you get to choose a section to start at. You don't have to play the entire song, but you can start at things like 'Chorus 1'. Then you get to select the end section also. After that, you get to select the speed of the song.

Back on the main menu, there's also a quick play mode. It's just like career, except it isn't a story.
Head to Head-you go against a friend with either two guitars or two drums.
Then there is also Nintendo WFC. This has a ton of options you can do while online.

There are a ton of other things you can do with this game. I only listed a few of them.

Lastability

With all of these game modes, the lastability is WAY up. But after you play all of the songs a few times, they get boring. If you like to be a completionist and try to beat career in all difficulties, this game will last longer. And if you never get tired of playing the same songs over and over, this game will last longer.
But still, the multitude of modes really make this game last a long time.

Overall

The graphics are typical Guitar Hero graphics, the sound is better then other Guitar Hero games.
There are a hundred different things you can do with this game. You can make your own songs and make your own character.
You can go online and play against people across the world.
This game is great, and probably the best Guitar Hero game ever.
It is even better if you're willing to buy the other instruments and play with friends.
This is definitely worth the money, and I recommend getting it as soon as you can.
