Greak: Memories of Azur is a cinematic, side scrolling single player game with hand drawn animations. You play the role of three siblings: Greak, Adara and Raydel and your objective is to guide them through the lands of Azur. In order to do this, you must alternate control between them and use their unique abilities to escape from the Urlag invasion. Greak is the name of the main character, and the smallest of the siblings. He belongs to a magical race called the Courines, which are currently under the attack of an enemy invasion from a faction called the Urlags. This battle has been going on for a long time, and the Courines are starting to flee their own lands. Greak's goal is to reunite with his brother (Raydel) and his sister (Adara) and then escape the lands of Azur by building an Airship piece by piece. Greak Memories of Azur is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Switch, and PC. Take a look at our tips to get help in the game.

Got a cheat or hot tip for this game? Found a secret, or a strategy for success?

Master the Dodge Ability

Each of the three siblings has a unique dodge ability, and it is essential that you master each of them, as the enemies you will be facing in Greak: Memories of Azur are powerful and have a tendency to lunge at you. To begin with you will only be able to play as Greak and getting to grips with his dodge roll that can maneuver him out of harm's way is crucial as during the early stages of the adventure you only have four health potions available to negate the damage you take from enemies.

Gather Items While Exploring

Gather Items While Exploring

As you explore the world of Greak: Memories of Azur you will come across lots of different items which may not always be obvious what they are. Gather as many of them as you can as more often than not they will be healing items which will come in useful as it is very easy to take damage in this game. Berries and seeds in particular, you should stack. Once you get Adara, you will be able to carry more items as you will be able to swap between the siblings inventories.

Master Greak's Bow and Arrow

Each of the three siblings in Greak: Memories of Azur has an alternate type of ability and for the first couple of hours before his sister Adara joins you will be playing as Greak who carries a bow and arrows. It therefore makes sense that during this time you try and master this weapon, so you can take advantage of it's ability. You can shoot arrows in rapid succession if you hold down a shoulder button on your controller and aim with a thumbstick. Although the arrows do not do much damage against enemies, they can be very useful for hitting healing crystals that are out-of-reach. Don't waste your arrows, otherwise you will have to refill them.

Talk to NPCs

Make sure you talk to the NPCs that you meet during your adventure in Greak: Memories of Azur as they provide side-quests which you can complete to earn rewards that will aid you in the game. Speaking to the NPCs will also give you an opportunity to get tidbits of lore and world background which will help you to understand the tale of the game. This includes finding out why the three siblings; Greak, Adara, and Raydel were separated and understanding the plague that is ravaging the world.

Cook Healing Recipes

When you are exploring new areas, always keep an eye out for materials and food that can be used as ingredients for cooking. You will be taught how to cook in an early side quest that tasks you with finding three mushrooms. Cooking is one of the main healing mechanics in Greak: Memories of Azur and is simple, you basically combine three items from your inventory to make a better one. You will be able to cook using the pots that are strewn about the world, and some recipes can heal the siblings. One such recipe is cooking three seeds to make a muffin that heals 2 Health points.

Search for Secret Items and Buffs

It is essential that you continually search the beautiful world of Greak: Memories of Azur in order to find the secret items and buffs which will help you considerably during the game. Get into the habit of exploring every nook and cranny from the start because even when you do eventually get a map it will not be very detailed and will only provide you with overarching locations.

Collect the Blue Crystals

Blue crystals drop when you defeat enemies in Greak: Memories of Azur, make sure you gather as many of these blue crystals as you can. When you speak to one of the shopkeepers in the first village, you will discover that they are the currency of the game and can be used to buy, sell, and trade with the NPCs you meet in the various villages.

Switch Characters when Fighting Bosses

Switch Characters when Fighting Bosses

The boss battles in Greek: Memories of Azur are fast-paced and challenging, particular when you have all three siblings to look out for. The best tactic in these situations is to take advantage of the siblings by swapping between them according to how the bosses attack patterns are being used against you. Take Adara for example, although she is unable to jump as high as her two brothers, she compensates for this by being able to float when she jumps. She also has a long-range magic attack that can be put to good use while she floats and will help you to easily overcome some early combat encounters.

Don't be Afraid to Explore

Save points are plentiful in Greak: Memories of Azur so don't be afraid to take chances when exploring areas. Drop into pits and jump up into unknown areas in the hope of finding chests that contain valuable items. If your character dies for whatever reason, they will just quickly respawn back on the platform. A useful trick is to hold the right thumb stick of your controller when you jump as this will enable you to move the camera slightly which may allow you to see where a path leads.
