Full Review for Grand Theft Auto 4 by superblobby

Introduction

Rockstar finally released the biggest game, to ever hit the market, Grand Theft Auto 4, albeit 6 months after the original date set, a well worth wait!

If you enjoyed the previous version, escpecially GTA: San Andreas, you'll be sure to love this version, as it has that, plus much, much more.

You play through the game as a guy called Niko Bellic, who comes to America, looking for the American Dream, after hearing about all the great things his cousin Roman has, with a mansion, and all. This isn't to be, however, as you soon find out it was all a bunch of lies to get Niko to Liberty City.

You start off doing missions for Roman, escorting people, as gradually, your knowledge of the place expands, and you get to know more people who pay good cash for their dirty deeds. There are three main islands on the game, which you unlock as you progress further. 16 various weapons, to kill the gangs with.

The storylines and cut scenes are packed full with interest, and alot of comedy, and you'll hear for yourself, as Niko has some hilarious one liners, that'll crack you up.

R* have surely rapped up the best game of all time, without doubt.

Graphics

Although people may say the graphics are abit 'edgy' I beg to differ. They have yet again gone for that original GTA look, but this time with next gen consoles, looks a million times better. I was really quite surprised, at how good they were. For example, you run somebody over, you can see the limbs getting crushed, and their bodies bending, instead of just flying aimlessly off the bonet of you Turismo.

People look much more realistic too, with their facial features, clothes and such, driving in the far more graphically awesome cars. Not only items and people are far superior to previous versions, the landscaping is brilliant too, no matter what terrain you find yourself on you're sure to enjoy the view.

Sound

Can't fault the sound either, really. Exactly the same sounds as you'd expect walking through the city, or on the beach, or whereever you are. Identical. The sounds coming from a firing gun, revving car, or a screaming civilian are just about as perfect as you could expect.

Characters now have many, many different accents, and voices, for random strangers in the game. As thousands and thousands of different lines were recorded, from different nationalities, and such.

There are many different radio stations to listen to, with a whole heap of of songs, so you can roam from one island to another listening to The Game and Neyo, or your favourite old timer songs from the 1980's.

Gameplay

If there was a 11 out of ten, then it would be a 12. There is an unbelievable amount of things to do on this game, from the main storyline, free roaming and killing pedestrains, bumping your stats, dating online, side missions delivering 'goods' stealing cars, playing darts, ten pin bowling, or just hanging around with your buddies online. This game is top notch, and you will be damed if you're to find a game with more exciting things to do, than this.

Lastability

I guess this would be 13 then... For the reasons stated above, this game will take up your time. To accomplish the 100%, it will take you a good 90-100 hours, finding the pgeons that pecking aimlessly around Liberto City, there are over 60 missions for you to complete in the main story, with a good 100 or so side missions, and the Xbox 360's Achievement system will have you going for those gamerpoints also.

Overall

This game just has to be a 10. I can't figure why it scouldn't, or shouldn't, and it has me addicted, from the words 'Cousin, so good to see you!' I highly recomend you go out, and buy this game, because it will having you playing for an almost unlimited amount of time.
