Grand Theft Auto IV takes place in Liberty City. It is the story of a character named Niko who came to America to help out his cousin Roman. As the two climb to the top of the city's criminal chain, they encounter all sorts of enemies and wacky adventures. The story is great, the side missions greater, as this game unfolds.
The graphics are one of the best features in the game. While other games leave out important details, GTAIV hit every last noticeable detail with great great efficiency. The lighting is exceptional, and the speed graphics coupled with amazing controls is very astounding. If you look closely, you can even see your character hold his phone and see details on the phone as well.
The sound in GTAIV was one of my favorites as I played throughout the story missions. As everybody knows, GTA has implemented a system of Radio Stations in cars and other buildings, but GTAIV took this to a whole new level. Not only was there a wider variety of stations and songs than ever before, but the songs were very well-known exceptional songs. The character voices were also extremely varied, no two characters had the same voices, which really brought out personality in the game.
The gameplay was one of the worst features of GTAIV unfortunately. Character response to actions was very slow and when Niko did respond, he had a tendency to keep doing his action even though you had told him to stop doing the said action. Another of the worst features was the camera that showed while driving the car. The camera was not center in the backside of the car, rather off to the left. The car was also a big problem, as you were driving the car camera would not move when you made turns, causing you to smash into cars in lanes you could not see. Overall the gameplay was pretty bad, but the game made up for this in other ways also.
While the game story was pretty short, the lastability was great. As with any Grand Theft Auto game, the messing around you could do on the side was endless. There were many new side missions to be completed, while also implementing a new system of hanging out and participating in games with friends. Even with the main missions completed, this game can be played for months on end without any loss of interest.
Overall, Grand Theft Auto IV is one of the greatest games to have come out in the series. From the amazing and realistic graphics, to it's inevitable lastability, this game can be played with exceptional consistency without loss of interest or boredom. With so many great things about this game, you can be sure it will be a good investment.
