Choosing a Character

Although Granblue Fantasy Versus currently only has a small roster of 11 characters they each have their own unique playstyle and personality. Check out our Choosing a Character guide to get help picking a character that best suits your playing style.

Granblue Fantasy Versus has an 'easy' input mechanic which connects a character's special move to a button on the D-Pad enabling you to press one button instead of doing a special move motion. Long cooldownds however are the cost for using this feature so you will find it more beneficial if you learn the inputs associated with the special move the character uses so you can perform the attack whenever you want without having to worry about the cooldown as the time will be shortened considerably. When choosing a character in Granlue Fantasy Versus it is important that you understand how they operate and know what their strengths and weaknesses are.

Gran

An all arounder and a good choice if you are new to Granblue Fantasy Versus as it will enable you to learn the ins and outs of the game.

Katalina

This character is similar to Gran in that she is a well-rounded character. She does however possess more range than her male counterpart. If you want a character that has a well-rounded play style Katalina is a good choice.

Charlotta

Primarily an offensive character that has no glaring weaknesses who can be a powerful weapon in the right players hands.

Lancelot

This is a 'rekka' character who possesses moves that can be chained a number of times for powerful offense. If you want a powerful offensively driven playstyle then Lancelot is the choice for you.

Ferry

This character is particularly effective at 'keep out' play using a powerful whip and a variety of zoning oriented special moves to keep her opponent at bay. If you are a player whol likes to keep enemies away from you then you may want to consider picking Ferry.

Lowain

This is a 'party' character who has a variety of unorthodox moves and strange but effective supers. Lowain is a hard but extremely powerful character to master.

Ladiva

A powerful close quarter fighter that excels at grappling. Ladiva's unique and extremely dangerous arsenal of throws makes her effective in situations where she is in the corner and allowed to connect.

Percival

This is a powerful ranged fighter who makes use of his superior range to keep his enemies at bay. Percival frustrates his enemies into making mistakes by applying pressure.

Metera

This character is a dedicated 'zoner' using a variety of bow and arrow attacks. Approaching Metera when played correctly is difficult.

Zeta

This character is another 'zoner' who uses a variety of powerful stabbing attacks. Her long-ranged spear is particularly effective when used to keep the enemy away.

Vaseraga

This is the largest character on the roster. He has huge but slow attacks which requires a patient player to utilize effectively.
