Genshin Impact is a free-to-play RPG game that is available on PS4, PC, Android, and iOS that offers a huge world to explore and lots to loot. Although Grenshin Impact has full cross-play between all devices the game only supports cross-progression between PC and mobile.

Grenshin Impact has a gacha system that allows you to pull heroes and items at random to add to your roster. Unlike other games in the genre the heroes in Genshin Impact are fully playable characters with their own movesets, powers and elements. Pick Up and Loot Everything

Make sure as you progress in the game you pick up everything you come across on the ground. Unlike other game where you are given a limited inventory in Grenshin Impact you are given 30,000 slots so being selective as to what you pick up is not a factor. The reason why it is important to not leave anything on the ground is that the low rarity weapons and items you pick up will be fed into higher rarity ones in order to further enhance them. Also keep an eye out for chests, there are over 1,000 of them scattered across the world and the rewards you receive from them are scaled to your Adventure Rank and World Level.

Concentrate On One Character

Although there are 18 different characters in Grenshin Impact with diverse skills, elements, and abilities to choose from it is recommended that when you start the game you pick one character, ideally one of the main ones and focus on building them up. The reason why you should concentrate on leveling only one character is by doing so you not only raise their stats but also unlock their level cap which is initially set at level 20. Once you begin to Ascend a character from Level 20 the required materials become scarce and coupled with the XP cost becoming more the higher you raise a character you quickly realise it is best to focus on one character or at the most two when you begin the game.

Raise your Adventure Rank

It is important that you continually raise your Adventure Rank in Genshin Impact as many of the game's systems are gated behind various Adventure Ranks and unlocking them will enable you to participate in a larger range of activities. The quickest way to raise your Adventure Rank in Grenshin Impact is to complete the main and sidequests. You can also net small amounts of Adventure Rank XP by opening the chests that are littered throughout the world of Teyvat.

Get the Adventurer's Handbook

Once you have completed the main story quests and reached Adventure Rank 12 you will be able to pick up the Adventurer's Handbook by visiting Katheryne Mondstadt who you will be able to find near the entrance by the compass symbol. It is recommended that you pick up the Adventurer's Handbook as doing so will help you to earn Adventure Ranks faster. The Adventurer's Handbook also enables you to track everything you do and rewards you for completing those activities with various items and Adventure Rank XP.

Focus on the Story

It is important that you initially focus on the story and resist the temptation to jump off the beaten track when you begin playing Genshin Impact. Continue following the story until you have formed your full team lineup which will be the four characters the game gives you for free. These characters will be the main character you selected at the start of the game, the lightning wizard Lisa, the ice swordsman Kaeya, and the fire archer Amber. Trying to explore the world without this core group of characters will be problematic and won't be as rewarding as you will not have specific elements needed to solve many of the environmental puzzles.

Focus on the Story

The Gacha System

The gacha system in Genshin Impact is called Wishes and it is used to acquire different characters and more powerful weapons. You will be able to pull on the gacha once you have reached Adventure Rank 5. When you reach Adventure Rank 10 you will have been awarded with enough free summoning material to be able to do two or three pulls on the gacha. It is recommended that when you do decide to summon you use the Beginner's Wish banner which gives you a 20% discount and guarantees you the 4-star character Noelle on your first 10 pulls.

Resin

In free-to-play games there is usually a stamina system in place to gate progression. In Genshin Impact it is called Resin and unlike other games with a stamina system you are not gated from playing the game. What it does do is restrict how many dungeons or bosses you can loot on a daily basis. You can only restore your Resin up to 6 times a day using Primogems, a currency you acquire just by playing the game.

In-game Shop

As you would expect from a free-to-play game Grenshim Impact has an in-game shop where you can buy Crystal, the game's premium currency using real money, which can then be used to get Wishes for the gacha. You can however earn Primogem by just playing the game and it is possible to eventually unlock every character and weapon in the gacha system using them. When you reach Adventure Rank 20 in Genshin Impact you will unlock the Battle Pass which like in most other games has two tracks, a free one and a premium one. If you decide to purchase currency you will be able to advance faster in the Battle Pass than someone who is playing the game completely free.

Unlock Xiangling Free

Xiangling is the Head Chef at the Wanmin Restaurant and also a waitress there. You can get this 4 star Pyro hero free by reaching AR20 and clearing Floor 3, Chamber 3 of the Abyss Dungeon.
