All Sonic Gems Collection GameCube Cheats and Tips - Most Popular First
Sonic Gems Collection cheats
Unlock Vectorman:
Either play games in the collection for 5 hours or start the game with a saved file on your memory card from the Sonic Mega Collection to unlock Vectorman instantly. Unlock Vectorman 2:
Either play games in the collection for 7 hours or play Vectorman more than once. Unlock Super Sonic (Sonic R):
Complete The Game with all Chaos Emeralds collected and all the characters unlocked. Unlock hidden characters by collecting all 5 Sonic Coins on each stage and finishing in the top three.
Unlock Dr. Eggman (Sonic R):
Win all courses.
Unlock Egg Robo (Sonic R):
Get the five Tokens in Regal Ruins, finish in at least 3rd place and beat Egg Robo.
Unlock Metal Knuckles (Sonic R):
Get all five Tokens in Reactive Factory, ..
Super Sonic and Sonic in same race in GP mode
Unlock the Radiant Emerald and Super Sonic plus two of the metal characters, and then select a mystery character and then you will see in the list of all racers the Sonic and Super Sonic. This may not work everytime you do this however.
Sonic R Cheats: Select Same Character
In multiplayer mode, highlight a character that has already been chosen by another player. Hold L and press A or X to choose that character for yourself and have two of the same character on the same track.
High Scores
At the title screen, press right, right, up, up, down, A.
Knock opponent out of the ring!
This isn't really a cheat, it's more of a glitch.
When playing Sonic The Fighters, follow these steps:
1) Get rival's health until one hit is left.
2) Get him colse to the ropes.
3) Preform an uppercut move.
4) If you K.O. Your rival, they might fly out of the ring!
NOTE: This does not effect your score.
Sonic Spinball Cheats
TO USE: Go to the Options menu, then to Sound FX, and play the sounds in the order listed. The screen will shake if you do it correctly.
LEVEL SKIP
00, 02, 01, 05, 06, 06. While playing, press down+A+B+Start together to skip to the next area.
FAST MUSIC
00, 04, 02, 05, 05, 07. Self explanatory.
FREE MOVEMENT
00, 09, 00, 01, 06, 08. While playing, pause and press A. You can move Sonic anywhere in the level, including through walls and enemies. Unpause to return to the game.
Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble: Level Select
After selecting it from the game select menu, hold up on the control pad.
Continue to hold it during the game's intro, where Knuckles bounces onto the screen and grabs the Chaos Emeralds.
Just as the red Emerald (third to disappear) disappears, press Start. You'll hear a chime if you do it correctly.
After you start the game and choose your character, you'll find the level select menu.
Tails' Skypatrol Cheat: Level Select and Sound Test
At the title screen, hold up+A, and press Start.
Sonic Fighters: Battling the CPU! Some helpful tips for battling
Muhahahaha! I doctor Robotnik, have some useful information when battling the CPU in the Arcade mode of Sonic: the Fighters. (Sonic the Hedgehog will be the main character to assist me with my examples and tips.)
Tip #1: Barriers; good or bad?
Barriers can be both a good thing and a bad thing for both you and your enemy. Though it seems barriers can protect you, they are not as efficeint in the protection department.
For instance, let's say you are blocking sonic's Punch Rush attack with your barrier, all of a sudden he pulls a fast one and uses the Sonic head spin on you at close range, which not only destroys your shield, but you end up taking damage, even though you have a shield up. The shield doesn't seem to be very helpful for you, but your opponent sh..
Unlimited Lives for Nearly Every Game!!
First of all, I emphasize the "nearly every game" part, because this works an almost all of the games except: Sonic the Fighters, Sonic CD (not really a necessary thing in this one if you ask me), and Sonic R. The rest of these games are eligible for my cheat. Okay, now, for this to work you need to some filespace on your memory card. So here's what you do with the extra filespace:
whenever you save a game --- for example let's say you are saving a game from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for Game Gear --- all you have to do is simply save game before every level or before and after a major event (like a boss battle or after finding a chaos emerald), and whenever you lose a life, simply pull up the LOAD DATA screen and reload the level.

Super Sonic clarification
Sonic the Fighters:Go through arcade mode as Sonic without ever losing. After you have goten to Metal Sonic, use Hyper Mode (<+P+K) on the second round and there is Super Sonic!
Sonic CD:You cannot get Super Sonic.
Sonic R:The only thing you have to do is get all 7 emeralds. Then press down on Sonic on the character selection screen.

| It is very hard to be super sonic on sonic fighters. I keep on doing what the hint board says but it's not working for.. |
Well, the hint board specifically says that you have to win 9 rounds, then on the tenth round, when you go into hyper mode, you can go super sonic. In other words, you must defeat Knuckles, Amy, Bark, Espio, Tails, Fang, Bean, and Clone Sonic, without losing a single match for all of them. Then when you face Metal Sonic, you don't have to beat him on the first of the matches, you just have to be in the 2nd match and then go hyper and you should turn into super sonic, but this mode is only available on the second match with metal sonic, after all of the criteria have been met. Unfortunately, I was unable to make this happen on my own, for I am not especially skilled with Sonic the Fighters. I had to have a friend show me how to do it while I watched. Good luck...you'll need it. |
| How do you beat the final boss on Sonic CD? |
Muhaha! I, the evil Dr. Ivo Robotnik, shall reveal to you the strategy to beat my most fabulous, and deadly creation (just don't tell Sonic, okay? >;D )! You know how there's a shield item right before you face the boss machine? Well, it's not exactly a key item to defeating the last boss, but it can be helpful. Now I hate to tell you this, but it is literally impossible to not take some damage from this boss, that's why it's so evil! Eggman has it shielded by those four metal plates, making it difficult to attack him directly on the first shot, so it's important to collect a LOT OF RINGS before facing him as you will need to run after them as you take damage, and the more you have, the easier it will be to recollect some of those rings. Now the shield item is helpful because you can have it take the damage for you on the first hit for you, so you won't lose your rings. Know that whenever you take damage, you are temporarily invulnerable from Eggman's Metal Plates. You must attack him when you are invulnerable at that time, because that's the only time you can get past his metal plates to Eggman's vulnerable ship within. When you hit him, one of his plates will pop off and be destroyed, leaving an entire side of his ship vulnerable to your attacks. When he comes down from the ceiling, attack him in the space where the destroyed plate used to be. Another plate will fall off. Now Eggman is mad! He will start to launch his plates at you while staying just out of range from an attack from you. Dodge the plates and let him drop down from the ceiling again as he attempts to attack you directly, then attack him again. Another plate falls off, leaving him with only one line of defense remaining. He will again attempt to smash you with his last remaining plate while staying just barely out of your range of your super spin attack. Dodge it again, and wait for him to come close enough for you to attack. Hit him again and it's game over for the Eggman and his evil windmill thingy. By the way, you want to keep a sharp eye out for those metal plates when attacking him, because every time you knock one off eggman, he starts to increase the rotation speed of the plates to make up for the lack of protection. Are you COMPLETELY sure you didn't put in the sound test code? These two codes are almost the some, except the stage select is UP, down, down, left, right, NOT down, down, down, left, right. |
