Super Sonic in Sonic 3 and Knuckles

After I got the last Chaos Emerald, I received a message that read, "YOU CAN NOW PLAY AS SUPER SONIC". I gathered fifty gold rings and jumped and nothing happened! Help!!

That's pretty easy to answer. In Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and Knuckles in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 only require you to jump, and transform when fifty rings are gained. In Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles, they require you to use the jump button twice when fifty rings are gained. Specifically in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles, if you have all Chaos Emeralds, then go onto the Sonic & Knuckles section of the game, you'll get a chance to snatch more emeralds to transform into something better.
