This is my best recommendation: have your best shooting weapon equipped at the start of the 3rd form, (hard mode and up) your best armor with 3 or 4 slots to put defense reinforcements, for items, have max trimates,dimates,difluids, and trifliuds, then fill the rest with scape dolls he will take you down a bit over halfway with his strongest attack, also have a good close-range weapon handy when he gets near you, the best shooting weapon would be the ability to absorb HP.....
