-VERSION HISTORY-

-------------------------
Version 0.1: [2004/07/12]
-------------------------

First started this project.

--------------------------
Version 0.15: [2004/08/02]
--------------------------

Wrote all chips codes in the standard database.
Wrote all chips description for both Mega and Giga database since for
Secret, I haven't found nobody who actually wants to link with me. T_T
Except for that, I added some more chips location. I might be still
missing some minor stuff, but do not worry. I'll update it as soon
as possible for your sake.

-------------------------
Version 0.3: [2004/08/04]
-------------------------

Well, I've finally finished writing all chips codes which can
be gotten through the game in Normal mode. Now, I've began researching
chips codes only gotten from Hard mode. Oh and, all missing spot in the
Giga chip database "description" has finally been filled. I'll probably
remove the "where to get it" of the format location thingie
since it takes spaces so that I can describs specifically the location
of the code. So, all I have to do is put the whole thing into one;
meaning I only have to remove this "-" punctuation. I guess that is all
I have to say about the update made of version 0.3.

-------------------------
Version 0.5: [2004/09/20]
-------------------------

Please do not ask me why did it took so long for the release
of the new version of the FAQ anymore. I've been receiving numerous mails
about people being impatient and greedy lately about that matter.
For those who emailed me: HOLD YOUR HORSES DAMMIT!!! >_<
My computer has been infected by some sort of virus which has broken down my
IP internet protocol. So I can't no longer hang out in the net. Right now,
I'm waiting for a call if my computer has been fixed yet. The result of that
tragedy has been an horror to me. I've lost all my save data including
final version of this guide. Fortunately for me, I was able to retrieve
the backup file which was saved on a disc. However, its only version 0.4.

You might be also
wondering why I haven't respond to any of your mails lately. Technically,
my internet services is down. Therefore, I should be back for good in the
next month. Oh and, I'll be back answering mails after the 9th day of
November. Furthermore, enjoy my FAQ!

--------------------------
Version 0.55: [2005/01/27]
--------------------------

Well, it's been ages since I haven't updated this FAQ. Bah. Hope any of
you aren't mad at me for being such a lazyass. I've read most of your
mails regarding when my FAQ will reach the last version. According to
my calculation, it could prolly take a year. What? >_>;
I've been inhale by other games such as Maple story. I really don't have
any spared time...

I. INTRODUCTION [KIRBY]

//                                                                    \\
Welcome to the Megaman battle Network 4: Red Sun chip code location
guide. As in the previous Battle Network games, chips are very
fundamental since they provides you the support necessary to overcome
your enemies, and advance through the game. This guide will aid you
find missing chips to complete your library and especially, helps you
find the specific codes which will help building outrageously powerful
combat folder.

PLEASE READ THIS!!!
Yes, I'm aware that my FAQ is only 3/4 completed and not yet very
helpful for most of the advanced players. This FAQ will only press to
the rescue for the newbies of this game. So please, advanced players,
be extremely patient. After all, I also have to work on the blue moon
version. I'll try to make a quick update as soon as possible, if only my
little brother would stop playing on my GBA. Oh yea, you might probably
ask "why won't you ask one of the MMBN4 FAQs writer to allow you to get
some chips codes information?". I prefer going with natural searching
if you know what I mean. Thereby, I might get valuable information that
other MMBN4 writers doesn't even "held captive" in their guide; in other
words, even ignores. In conclusion, making this FAQ will take a huge
amount of time.

Before continuing the pilgrimage, I highly recommend using
the "Ctrl+F" keyword which will allow you to speed up your search.
Remember, Ctrl+F is your friend.
Well, enough said! Let us go to the main subject.
\\ //

II. ABOUT THOSE [XXXXXX] THROUGHOUT THE FAQ? [NALL]

Wondering what's the usefulness of those thingie in the table of
contents and throughout the guide? Actually, they are just mere support
system for the search engine "CTRL+F". How to use them? Just press
the keyword "CTRL+F" then input the support word and thereafter
click on "search" and voil! "How stupid this is, you only have to input
the name of the chip; no need to use this weird system" You'll probably
say. Since I typed many chip names repetitively, you'll have to press
the "next" button several times before reaching your goal.
And that my friend, it is really annoying eh?

this kind of situation, I shall delete you!

IV. CHIP LIST [ZIDA]
This is the database of all chips in the game. If you wished to go
directly to the goal which is the chip location chapter, be my guest.
It's right under this chapter after the Secret chip list database.
For Folder builder, this section should really come in a handy when
looking at the codes.

a.) STANDARD CHIPS [SHIFT]

Meh. The standard chips database. -_-
You can only put 4 of the same chips in your folder. Otherwise,
you'll probably make cheap folder which will make you lose interest
and fun of the game. For example, putting 30x AntiDmg in your folder.
It would be too easy to beat the game.

b.) MEGA-CLASS CHIPS [NECRO]

Unlike the standard chips, it has less codes, less copies, but higher
powerful capability though. You can only put five Mega-Class chips in
your folder, unless if you equip MegaFld in your Navi Customizer
Program which will allow you to put an extra more.
Note that Secret-Class chips are considered as Mega-Class chips.
Oh and, you'll can only put one of the same of the chip. I know it sucks,
but what do you want me to do? Stop whinning and deal with it. ^_^

You might be wondering why the SP and DS version
of the navi has ??? attack point. Well, their attack depends on
how fast you delete them after gotten their original chip. Meaning,
deleting them quickly equal having strong navi chips.

c.) GIGA-CLASS CHIPS [TDU]

The shortest database ever. Those chips are similar as the Mega-class,
but harder to get and only comes in one copy EXCEPT for bugcharg which is a
special giga chip. You can only put one of those in your folder unless if you
happen to have the NCP block to allow you to put one extra more which is very
hard to find. Just check Zidanet_129's Navi Customizer guide for any further
information. (For those who reads this FAQ from GameFAQs.com)

Note that Giga-Class chips can't be traded via linking or whatsoever,
except of course, by cheating.

d.) SECRET-CLASS CHIPS [LOURDE]

Those chips below can only be obtained by either trading or by doing
Higsby's free tournament which is held at his blackboard at his store.
You'll need to link with another player though, which is a real pain to
the ass. Secret-Class chips are considered as Mega-Class chips since
they have the same background color which is blue if you aren't observant. _'
So meaning, you can't only put a maximun of five Mega unless if you
have the special Navi Customizer block.

V. CHIP LOCATION [CAEK]

Hrm. This is the section which you were insanely waiting for.
I should probably explain the basic system to understand
my "encoded layout" and some few word contraction which MMBN games used.
First of all, here's how it works, I'll simply put the name of the chip
with his several codes which CAN ONLY be found throughout the game.
Meaning, this game doesn't possessed all copy chips in all codes,
just like the other MMBN games if I may remind you. Anyway, after
inserting the chip with his respective code, I'll mark a ":" next to
it, explaining how to gain the chip with the specific code.
I'll also note the location of the virus since most chips can only be
dropped from it. Meh. Here's the format:

#(Chip number). (Chip name)

(Chip name) (Chip code): (How to gain it)
(How to get it a second time)
(How to get it a third time)

(Chip name) (Chip code): (How to gain it)
(How to get it a second time)
(How to get it a third time)

(Chip name) (Chip code): (How to gain it)
(How to get it a second time)
(How to get it a third time)

(Chip name) (Chip code): (How to gain it)
(How to get it a second time)
(How to get it a third time)

Note that "How to get it a second time" and "How to get it a third time"
aren't frequently optional since some chip codes can only be gotten only
once. One more thing, some chip codes location may have some
abbreviations such as GMD which stands for Green Mystery data.
Anyhow, here is abbreviations list:

GMD => Green Mystery Data which flows all over the net.
BMD => Blue Mystery data which flows all over the net.
PMD => Purple Mystery Data which can only be opened with "Unlocker"
3CT => Three Chip Trader which can be found at Higsby's shop.
10CTE => Ten Chip Trader of Electown.
10CTN => Ten Chip Trader of Netopia.
In-Battle GMD => Green Mystery Data only found in battle.

Please do not email for any a little bit inaccurate information.
And yes! I do admit some of my "how to gain the chip" information are
somehow inaccurate, some code can be gotten in a high rank busting level
which holds really rare, even though the ranking isn't in my database.
My database is quite accurate for all that matters.

NOTE! PLEASE READ THOSE LINES BELOW BEFORE GOING ON AHEAD!!!

Some virus like Spikey and Whomper drops different chip code in the same
busting level. Meaning, you have fifty percent to get the specific code.
One more thing, this guide only helps getting chips without using
COLLECT NCP. In one word, if you are equipping it, all my hard work won't
have any meaning to it which means half of it is all inaccurate.

Some chips can only be gotten in HardMode or Super HardMode, so that is
why I had to use the "( )" to tell you so. If those aren't used, you
can find them in NormalMode.

People asked me this several times "It says here on your guide <paste
chip location/> that this chip can be gotten from Higsby's chip order
system. But when I went there and see, it isn't there. So I guess you
made an error." For the last freaking time, you can only purchase the
chips wanted from Higsby's chip order system if you have the record of
the chip in your library.

 /==================\
<- Mega-Class Chips -> [YOH]
 \==================/

For this section of this game, I have but little choice but to have to
change a little bit my system format for Navi chip location. Because,
telling how to get the chip PLUS the location of the Navi takes too much
space of line which will all mess up the beauty of my guide. Mostly,
many people proposed me to put a specific description of the location of
the Navi for those who sucks at "hide and seek". Do not be alarmed,
this just impose only to Navi chips. Anyway, here it is:

#(Chip Number) (Chip Name)

(Chip Name) (Chip Code) : (How to get it)
                          ("The location of the Navi")
: (How to get it a second time)
                          ("Where to get it")

Anyway, this format will only be used in this section.
If you like this new update, then too bad for you, I guess. -_-'
Although, I'll probably change it if many people ask me too.

VI. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS [MAGENTA]

-----
Q: I'm at the antenna of Sharo, trying to fix the weather. One
of the torch is asking me to find a lava stage? Where can
I find one? Thanks!

A: Actually, its an HeatBrth K battle chip you must search for.
You can either encounter the virus in NetFrica or by buying the
actual chip in Netopia Network Area by an Net-Dealer.
-----
Q: Hello there. Just to point you that there are missing chips
you haven't mentioned in your FAQ which are mostly level 3 viruses.
Hope you can fix these soon.

A: May I recall this is only a minor version? Meaning this FAQ is
still under construction. Oh and, it will take probably a hell of
a time before its completely done.
-----
Q: It says here on your guide that this chip can be gotten from
Higsby's chip order system. But when I went there and see, it
isn't there. So I guess you made an error?

A: No. The only way you can purchase the chips wanted is by first
having it in your library database.

I would like to thank the people who is by the way, listed below, which
should be given much more credit than I do. After all, without them this
guide wouldn't be this enjoyable and helpful.

CjayC => For hosting my guide and for creating gamefaqs.

Capcom => For creating this awesome game.

The Dark Unknown => Who coincidently posted some topics about
                    location of certain chips.

ProtoMan V3 & Mastermind Chaud => Written the chip code list which I had
to use for this FAQ achievement.

Crono exe => Helped me where to find certain chip code.

VIII. HOW TO CONTACT ME [GRAVY]

No need to scroll down further since this is were the guide permanently
ends. If you wish to thank me for doing such a nicely sweet job, then
don't email me. Seriously, If you really feel insanely the pain of
showing your gratitude toward me, then just go rate my FAQ at
gamefaqs's MMBN4 walkthrough front page. Your action will be greatly
appreciated. One more thing, if you ask me the ROM or whatsoever
concerning illegal activities, I'll delete your mail without any
hesitation. Same thing goes with bad subject tittle, please write
something related to MegaMan because I've been receiving lots of mail
containing virus lately which has no tittle and sometime tittles who
doesn't make any sense. So, I'm used to send them directly to the thrash
basket regardless of knowing what they contain.

Just e-mail me at "[email protected]" if you have any questions.
