How come when I am in a duel I have a card that is 2800 Attack and the opponent has a card with only 300 Attack and he kills my card...thats a pretty big difference in attack power for it to only be that my card is a weaker type towards theres cause it shouldent take that much attack away to be able to kill mine

Its all to do with the card types too, Fire is destroyed by Water, Light defeated by Dark, Earth by Wind Etc.
Well like what lord starscream said the summon type is what the problem is. Heres a list of all the summon types and what they destroy.
Shadow def. Light
Dream def. Shadow
Fiend def. Dream
Light def. Fiend
Fire def. Grass
Grass def. Wind
Wind def. Earth
Earth def. Thunder
Thunder def. Water
Water def. Fire
P.S. Def. Means defeats
P.P.S. The types might not be the same name but they are close
Well just like those 2 said I would recommend u remember these types because they'll help u in the game
