When I put a password in the password machine at grandpas I never get the card can anyone help me out with that

The card doesn't go straiaight in the deck it goes in grandpas card shop and you have to bu them.
When you enter a code to get a card you don't just get the card in your deck, I thought the same thing. It just makes the card available to buy from grandpa. So make sure that you have a lot of money when you do this.
