In legacy of goku how do you land on the patch of land to get the toy boat

I had trouble with this one all I did is go behind or in front of the kid and fly over to the patch of land.
This took me a while but all you have 2 do is land on the other half of the island that doesn't have the boat on it. Then pick up the boat and fly back 2 the kid and give it 2 him.
