Question for Breath of Fire

How do I get the sleeping Thief in the prison cell to join my party? Should I save the Princess first or go to the next town?

The thief in the prison cell never joins you, but he looks exactly the same as someone who does join you. To save Ross's daughter, buy a G. Bar and then go on to the next town, Bleak. The Bleak chief will give you an icicle for the G. Bar, which you need to reach the desert. Karn (the thief) is in a dungeon in the desert. It is called Krypt

Actually the thief in the cell so the exact same person. Karn is the thief I’m the prison cel,
