If you've got a game boy and you have pokemon yellow and you're stuck on a part of the game then this is the guide for you. This guide is gonna take you through the beggining of the game, (just to get you started) and its made by the coolest kid ever...ME!

RIGHT LETS GET DOWN TO BUSINESS.

First of all you need to know the controls-

RIGHT-- MOVE ASH RIGHT/MOVE CURSOR RIGHT/MOVE BOULDER RIGHT (When you have Strength)

When you turn on the game you see a sillouhette of pikachu and then he starts to surf and do some other things just skip this by pressing A. Then you will come on to a screen where there is a big picture of Pikachu and he is saying "PIKA!" press A and then you should come on to a screen where it says-

If your like me and you can't be bothered to read things change the text speed to FAST. When you have finished playing around with the options go back to th main screen and press NEW GAME.
When you click new game a man in a lab coat will come up and he will say
HELLO THERE!
WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF POKEMON!
MY NAME IS OAK!
PEOPLE CALL ME THE POKEMON PROF!
THIS WORLD IS INHABITED BY CREATURES CALLED POKEMON!
FOR SOME PEOPLE, POKEMON ARE PETS. OTHERS USE THEM FOR FIGHTS.
MYSELF...
I STUDY POKEMON AS A PROFFESION.
FIRST,WHAT IS YOUR NAME?
Then a screen comes up saying

When you have typed in your name click ed which means end and then you will come up on the screen and the writing under you will say
RIGHT! SO YOUR NAME IS (WHATEVER YOU CALLED HIM)!
Then a picture of GARY will come up and it says
THIS IS MY GRAND-SON. HE'S BEEN YOUR RIVAL SINCE YOU WERE A BABY.
...ERM, WHAT IS HIS NAME AGAIN?
Then the name screen will come up. You can choose between BLUE, GARY OR JOHN. Or you can type in a different name.
When you have named GARY it will say
THATS RIGHT! I REMEMBER NOW! HIS NAME IS (WHATEVER YOU CALLED HIM)!
Then you will come up and it will say your name then it will say
YOUR VERY OWN POKEMON LEDGEND IS ABOUT TO UNFOLD!
A WORLD OF DREAMS AND AVENTURES WITH POKEMON AWAITS! LETS GO!
You will then shrink and you will be in your bedroom

You wil start off standing by your SNES. Use the directional buttons and move to your computer. Which is in the top right of your room. Press A when you are facing it and this screen will come up

If you click on WITHDRAW ITEM then you click on POTION you will be asked how many potions you want to withdraw. You only have 1 so you can only take out 1. Then you have to confirm that you want to take out 1 potion so press A. Then log off the computer and go down the stairs that are in the top right of the room. When you have walked down the stairs you will see your mom. If you talk to her she will say that proffesor Oak is looking for you.
Then go to the bottom of the screen where there is a blue bar and walk through it. The blue bar is a door!

PALLET TOWN!

When you are in pallet town if you go to the other small house the girl that is in the house will say that GARY is in Grandpa's lab. Here is a map of PALLET TOWN-

There is no point going into PROFFESSOR OAK'S lab because there is nothing in it yet.
You need to go north of PALLET TOWN and go to the grass part of the town. Walk through the grass and then PROFFESSOR OAK will come to you and he will say that was close. Then OAK will be in a battle against PIKACHU but he doesn't fight it he just catches it.
Then OAK will take you into his lab. He wil tell you to take the POKE BALL that is on the table. When you press A to take the POKE BALL GARY will push you out the way and he will take it. Then you will go back to OAK and he will give you PIKACHU. You will then be asked if you want to give PIAKCHU a nickname you can click yes or no. Then once you have PIKACHU walk out the lab.
As you walk out of the Lab GARY will stop you and he will start a poke battle with you.

YOUR FIRST BATTLE

When you are in the battle GARY will send out EEVEE. What you need to do though is click FIGHT. A screen will come up saying, THUNDERSHOCK and GROWL, Click on THUNDERSHOCK. Pikachu will then shock EEVEE. EEVEE'S life/HP will go down which is good. Keep doing this and if your life gets dangerously low click on ITEM and then click on the POTION option. PIKACHU'S life will go back up. If you win you will get money and PIKACHU will grow to level 6 AND he will learn TAIL WHIP! If you loose you will loose money. Then just walk out of the lab. PIKACHU will follow you.

ROUTE 1
-------
When you come out of PROF OAKS lab go to the part of grass where there is an arrow on the map. If your screen starts to flash and it turns black NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE SCREEN. You have enterted a battle with a wild pokemon. You can either fight it or run away from it. The pokemon you will meet in this area are-
* Pidgey
* Rattatta
Pikachu's Thundershock is super effective against PIDGEY but its not very good against RATTATTA. Just keep going north. Soon you will get to another vilage you can heal your pokemon if you want at the POKECENTRE. Then go into the POKEMART. Walk up to the man behind the counter and talk to him. He will give you a package. You will need to take it to PROF OAK. So go back the way you came. Walk up to OAK and talk to him. When you have done this you arefree to go out on your own and into the world of Pokemon!!!
