How do you catch the legendary birds? Because it keeps saying you missed the pokemon.

Actually, you just have to keep throwing pokéballs until one of them hit.Aeon-Flux answered:
If it says you missed the Pokemon, you cannot get them. This happen to me before.

No, actually, you can, you just have to keep throwing pokéballs, about 10-15, until one of them hit.Zelda Fan answered:
You catch them with poke balls but if you kill it then you can't get a 2ed chance to catch it.

Well, first off, even though you probably already know this... Articuno is deep in the seafoam islands, Zapdos is in the power plant, and moltres is near the end of the cave before the Pokemon leage.
Now, to catch them. If it says you missed the Pokemon, this probably means that it's still too strong. I would suggest paralyzing, freezing, or burning, and get the health down to like below 10hp. If this still wont work, just keep throwing ultra balls or poke balls. It took me and my sister like literally 50 ultra balls to catch Articuno, so just be patient.
NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU SAVE BEFORE FIGHTING THEM, BECAUSE IF THEY DIE, YOU WONT GET A SECOND CHANCE.

No, actually, the legendary birds are just designed to have the balls miss for a few tries, then, on the first time it hits, the pokémon will be captured, even with full health and status conditions.Guest answered:
If you kill the Pokemon it wont return but if you run it will return because this happend for me

I accidently killed moltres. Make sure to save your game first before encountering one of the legendary birds. And just legendaries in general. I used all my ultra balls but it wasnt enough

Actually, guys, you have to keep throwing pokéballs until it hits, it doesn't have to be low health, given a status condition, etc., etc., You just keep throwing. When it does hit, even with a basic pokéball + low health + status, it will be caught first try. Hope this helped all of you.
