Foamstars Cheats and Tips

Here are our best cheats and tips for this PlayStation game.

Test out the different characters in practice

There are different characters you can play in Foamstars and they have their own sets of skills and capabilities. Some characters excel in close combat such as Agito for example, or perhaps you will want to use skills that can deal with a lot of enemies from afar such as the Baristador. Testing out the different characters in the game can help you learn which play style would suit you best. Also, some characters can complement well with others, so try using ones that can turn into a well balanced team.

Learn to jump higher

When playing Foamstars, your goal is to cover the stage with as much foam as possible with your team in order to acquire more points. Not only will you be out trying to get more turf, but you'll also have to battle against opponents. In doing so, you will need to be able to move well and this includes jumping.

Some stages in the game have ledges, and sometimes you might think it's not possible to jump across it. In Foamstars, pressing the jump button and holding it will make your jumps higher. If you are moving normally, you can use tap jumps as well as hold jumps so make sure to use both as needed.

Get across the stage faster

Aside from walking, your character can slide across the foam that they lay out on the stage. Normally, you'd be shooting foam while walking, and then pressing the slide button in order to get across. However, this method is actually slower and you're more prone to getting attacked by your opponents.

If you shoot foam, and then jump before using the slide action, you'll be able to move faster. Repeating this in succession will also make your jumps shorter and slides come out quicker. This method will help you get across the stage better and it will be harder for enemies to aim at you because you are moving your position up and down through the jumps.

Adjust sensitivity in the settings

When aiming left to right and up to down, you will see that your camera will move at a specific pace. There may be times where you think that it's too fast, or perhaps it's too slow. If you have a specific preference for camera speed, you can open the settings and check controls. You can go to the camera section and change Camera Sensitivity for both directions. You can set this from 1 to 10, so try to adjust your settings and check the game to see if it will fit to your liking.

Consider turning off Auto Reloading

When you run out of foam, you'll have to reload your weapon which can take some time. Auto-reload is a feature which will let you get foam back once your gauge is empty, however this can also be detrimental because you're stuck doing the reload animation. For example, you may be in the heat of battle and there are a lot of enemies. If you run out of foam, you may be forced to reload immediately instead of trying to escape. Enemies might see this and attack you while you're reloading. In this case, consider trying to turn off auto-reload in the game's controls.

Use motion controls if you are used to it

When playing foam stars, you can turn on motion controls which can help with your aiming. Usually, if you have this setting off, you'll need to aim with your stick in order to fight your opponents or with spreading as much foam as you can. However, turning motion controls on will help you with fine tuning your aim by tilting your controller slightly so you can precisely aim at something.

Check your crosshairs when spreading foam

If you aim your weapon ahead and spread foam, there is a possibility that there will be a gap between you and the foam that you spread. Because of this, you might try to slide towards that foam and you'll get slowed down by the gap that has no foam in it. If you look at the crosshairs of your weapon, aiming it downward towards your character will make it disappear.

If that happens, try spreading foam and it will start to fill up around your character. Take note that this depends on the character as well, some can aim far and still have foam covered all the way, while some have gaps on the ground if you aim too far. Try to practice first so you'll be able to know how to cover terrain effectively.

Spray foam on top of foam

If you spray foam on an area that has already foam in it, you can increase its height and use it to your advantage. Higher foam takes a longer time to remove by the opposing team, and you can use the extra height in order to get to more terrain which is good for defending yourself since you can make a temporary hiding spot in order to be safe from enemy attacks. Also, sliding from a higher elevation will make you go faster, especially if you flick yourself and go the opposite direction.

Avoid staying in one spot

You may be tempted to stay in one location when trying to shoot your opponents with foam, however this is not a good idea because you'll become an easy target. Aside from shooting and using offensive skills, you must also take into account your movement. Sliding and jumping will help make your position unpredictable, so try to do a lot of movement whenever you are battling opponents.

You can strafe left and right across foam while trying to aim against your opponents, so having good practice with this technique can help you defeat enemies easier. If you feel that you have too much enemy foam on your character, try to slide away so you won't get bubbled up.

Take note how many shots you need to foam someone

Agito and Jet Justice have strong weapons that are meant to foam an opponent within two shots, that's because they're good characters for close range to defeat other characters. The rest of the characters who have longer ranged weapons on the other hand, will need around 7 hits in order for them to get totally foamed up. With this in mind, you can try to think how many shots are still needed before you can defeat someone. This is also a useful thing to know if you're in a mode such as PVP where the goal is to defeat your enemies as much as you can.
