Introduction

Final Fantasy has been around for many years but what is it about these games that keep drawing us into it? There are several reasons why we are constantly drawn to these kind of games. One could be that the characters we encounter in each game are unique with their own set of skills, powers, and personalities. Another could be the unique system of gameplay they would introduce to the gaming generation. Or the music which grasps it's users into another world. Whatever it is, Final Fantasy is still going strong and now has their 12th one out with lucky number 13 coming soon.

Graphics

What can be said about the graphics in this game? Well, let's just put it lightly, they are some of the best graphics on PS2 I have ever seen before. Not only with cutscenes are they completely astonishing, but with actual gameplay the graphics still are incredible, keeping the gamer content with the intensity of them.

Sound

If the graphics, the storyline, the characters, or the gameplay don't draw you into this, then the music will definitely. From the moment the first credits start rolling, you know the music in this game is going to be intense in order to raise your heart when the trying times come. It also is good when it goes to the softer scenes of passion and the music soothes the scene through.

Gameplay

Well, this is it. This is the true jewel, the gem which makes Final Fantasy games notable and loved. Originally, the FF games would bring you into an entirely "arena type" environment where you would select your actions and then fight without controlling your character. In FF12, you choose the actions your character makes, but you also fight out in the regular field of battle without being sent to a different arena. Along with that, the moves are grand, allowing you and your teammates to chain together attacks with different actions. And as well, the fighting becomes extremely intense when you have to face off against really difficult opponents. The different characters which accompany your party each have their own strengths and weaknesses, allowing you to have different qualities to help you defeat your enemies.

Lastability

This game is a beast. If you just buy it, you are guaranteed almost 70-100 hours of gameplay without even doing all of the side missions or quests. Doing all of the side missions and such will make the hours go right up to 140. The storyline is the same, but the game is so rich and well put together that you will want to go back through again and fight once more. It's guaranteed to make you happy and keep you entertained for a long time.

Overall

Well what can I say? I was somewhat unsure when I saw this game sitting on the shelf. I hoped that it wouldn't disappoint and let me down as some games before have. However, I bought the collector's edition of this game which also allows me bonus content to some things which would have never been shown before, Looking back, I'm glad I decided to get it as I don't think I will ever play a game as good as it. If you pass this game up, you are missing out on what is one of the best games to ever be made.

Final Score: 100%
