Zoom

You will discover that when you zoom into a scene and swipe past things the items you are searching for will sparkle allowing you to find them quicker.

Clues

It is important that you start working on Clues that need examination as soon as you have the chance because the waiting times tend to be very long.

Potions

When you reach level 3 you will be able brew potions on certain levels which can be used to gain advantages in Scenes. You can get the ingredients for these potions from the store or from Friends. It is not necessary to have potions, you can still play the game without them.

Hints

Use your hints wisely as they can leave you with a score deficit. The best strategy for using hints is to use them early in the game when you are struggling to find something so it allows them a chance to recharge before the end of the level.

Stars

Remember that you will only be able to use stars in the cases that you find them in. This means that there is no point going out of a case to grind extra stars as you will not be able use them to unlock more content.

Bonus Scenes

It is best to leave the bonus Scenes for the end as they are not as important as the regular scenes in terms of star rewards per points gained. Bonus scenes are also tougher to complete.

Minigames

Take advantage of the minigames when you have enough stars to work on them as they are usually easy to complete and are a good way of getting some extra energy. The order that you play them does not matter. If you do not need the energy and want to skip the mini-game you will have the option to talk to characters instead.

Time Lapse Cheat

If you quit the app when you run out of energy and go to your device’s settings and set the time forward 60 minutes you will discover when you return to the game it will have recorded the extra time and rewarded you with extra energy. You can repeat this cheat to fill your energy bar or complete research faster.
