Making Choices

Sometimes in Famicom Detective Club The Girl Who Stands Behind the game will offer you two choices. Although selecting either one will change the story slightly in the short-term, the eventual outcome will still be the same. In most cases it just means you will be doing things in a different order which means you will not miss out on any vital clues, so there is no need to worry about picking the correct option when you are given two choices.

Use the Notebook

As you progress in the game all the information you collect and clues you have found so far will be in the Notebook. The game will never require you to read through the Notebook to advance, it is solely for you to use as a reminder of who everyone is and keep track as to what is happening in the story. Make sure you take advantage of the Notebook whenever you are not sure about something or want to recap what people have said as doing so can sometimes bring something to light you previously overlooked.

Characters Won't Talk

Famicom Detective Club The Girl Who Stands Behind is a point-and-click adventure where you can choose commands such as 'Ask', 'Take', 'Show', 'Examine', and 'Go' to interact with the environment and characters. These commands will only be available options when they can be used, there will be instances however where you encounter a character who won't talk to you even though the option is available, and you are also unable to leave.

When this happens try examining objects in their vicinity and if that doesn't work it may be because you need to 'Call' nearby people to get them to show up. If you are talking to the character and the conversation ends on a cliffhanger you will need to prompt them into continuing the story, the way to do this is to broach a topic you think will encourage them. If they are still not talking repeat the questions again, if you then get new dialogue for one of them, ask them about it a third time. Don't forget the 'Think' or 'Remember' options as they can sometimes give you a clue as to how to proceed next.
