• Figure Out your Controls

  In Everspace 2 there are multiple different button configurations you can use regardless if you are playing on PC or console. Make sure before you begin playing you find one you are comfortable with.

  Keep in mind if you can always make a completely custom control scheme by assigning buttons to certain in-game actions if what is on offer does not appeal to you.

• Explore Everywhere

  Each area in Everspace 2 holds plenty of hidden wrecks, secret caches, puzzles. Always make sure to have the best sensors possible so that you can more easily spot loot while exploring new areas.

• Avoid Higher-Level Enemies when Exploring

  Try to stay undetected when exploring areas with higher-level enemies and if you do get spotted never be afraid to run.

• Circle Strafing

  The most important combat tactic you need to get competent at is circle straffing. This is basically wiggling your ship in a circular pattern to avoid enemy fire. The easiest way to perform this manuevre is to bound the up-down and left-right strafing to one of your thumbsticks.

• Upgrading

  Upgrading an item in Everspace 2 costs fewer resources than making an entirely new item. This means you should always upgrade before you craft. Keep in mind you can only upgrade something once, so reserve this for preferred weapons and special equipment.
