Don't Level your Heroes Evenly

Leveling up your heroes evenly to try and get a balanced team when you begin playing Dungeons of the Endless will not help you and will only slow down your progress. The reason why you should not do this is that some characters get a massive spike in usefulness when they reach Level 3-4 and get the Operate skill.

Characters that have the Operate skill will be able to work on the industry, food, and science modules and add half of their wit to the amount generated per turn. The bonus requires 1 turn of setup and the operator cannot move, but the more turns a person is operating a module, the better. Listed below are the heroes that get the Operate Skill, and it is these characters you should prioritize when you begin leveling in order to acquire it.

Level 3:
Opbot DV8, Josh 'Ntello, Rakya Pulmoni

Level 4:
Kreyang, Warden Mormish, Max O'Kane, Hikensha, Elise Ness, Nurse Deena Ratchet, and Golgy Phurtiver.
