Introduction

Thinking about buying this game for PS3? Think very carefully. You can not play it online. Gamespy was supplying the network to play online, and they killed it. The only way play this is people come to your house and play split screen. I paid $15 for it, and I think it is a very fun game. However, being unable to play online with other players makes me almost wish I hadn't bought the game. I would rather have bought the pc version. This game was built to be played by 4 people all doing teamwork at the same time. You can switch heroes in-between each round, so that helps. I.e. One person puts all skill points into building traps and sets them up, then the other hero put all their points into fighting. But solo is much harder than a team of players.

Graphics

I like the graphics. The camera angle takes a bit of getting used to, but you can press the R3 button to change angle. Once you start the combat phase, the camera angle shifts so you can see better. If you use apprentice or huntress who can shoot, stand on top of stuff and shoot the enemies.

Sound

I like the sound and the music. It's fine. The starting music is pretty good, and you can get pets in the game. The pets make noises every time you jump, which is kinda cool, too. 250 minimum characters, wonder why that is... Cool sound effects when you attack, and hit the monsters.

Gameplay

It is a tower defense game, but you can hack 'n slash, and you level up. So first is the build phase. You build any traps or defenses that you can with the mana in the treasure boxes you find. L1 to see the entire map at one time. When you are sure that you're ready, go to the crystal you are defending, and hit the square button. Your goal is to stop any enemies from reaching and attacking that crystal. You are free to watch the traps kill them,or run all over the place killing them any way you can. Be aware, there is animated blood and violence. It's like pink blood, so it's okay. The game gets harder as you go along, so it's important to start with the squire or apprentice until you get better at the game.

Lastability

I'm not sure. I just started playing it, and I've gotten to level 15 so far. There's a minimum of level 70 or higher that you can get to. So I can't begin to guess how long you can play it without getting bored. Again with the 250 minimum character count?

Overall

I think it's a good game, and I like it. I am happy I got the game, but highly disappointed that there is NO online mode for it, and they will most likely never bother to fix that. However, if you like solo games, or if you can find people to come over and help you play it n a regular basis, I think it would be totally worth the $15 to buy the game. However, I do not know if you can copy the save game file from your PS3 to another person's PS3.
