Dreamscaper Cheats and Tips

There are a variety of weapons in Dreamscaper that Cassidy can use in combat to her advantage. You can always view what Cassidy has available by viewing your inventory or by looking at her Journal in the Waking World. Melee and range weapons are the two types of weapons you can use in the game, and you will be able to find these during Cassidy's dreams, where she is able to equip one type of each weapon at the same time. To use range weapons requires lucid.

To expand Cassidy's weapon choices, gift items to the residents of Redhaven to increase your relationship with them and unlock more weapons. Each of your weapons has multiple rarities, modifiers, and levels, and it is recommended that you constantly change your loadout as you play through the levels in order to master various abilities and set up the perfect build for your playstyle.

Take advantage of Lucid Mode by equipping it to Cassidy as soon as it unlocks to make her considerably more powerful and make the game a lot easier to manage. If it gets too powerful, you always have the option to remove the effect. Lucid Mode in Dreamscaper is similar to Hades' God Mode in that when you die, you get a damage resistance bonus in your next run that is cumulative.

There is no need to continually repeat boss fights in Dreamscaper. Providing you have beaten the boss, you will be given the option to skip or challenge them whenever you encounter the boss again. Although the majority of the dungeons in Dreamscaper must be completed in order every time, this does not hold for bosses, they only need to be defeated the once. However, it is recommended that you take these fights whenever they are presented to you, as they give decent rewards that will help you.

Take advantage of the fast travel system in Dreamscaper to return to rooms you have already visited to pick up items you left there. In most roguelike games if you leave a room the items within it disappear forever, this is not the case with Dreamscaper. If for example a monster drops a health potion which you have no need for at that moment, you can leave it in the room and return later to collect it. This gives you the option of when to consume or equip items. You also have the option to break down items into dungeon currency.

Dreamscaper features an NPC system that will help increase Cassidy's powers. As you progress in the game make sure you befriend the residents of Redhaven as engaging with them will enable you to accumulate several types of resources that will enhance Cassidy in some way, these include Glass, Resolve, and Sparks. These resources will enable you to unlock new items, forge bonds to increase your relationship level with the resident, and upgrade Cassidy herself to make her stronger in future runs. The more residents that get close to Cassidy, the stronger she will become.

Dreamscaper is unlike most roguelikes that restrict your ability to fast travel from one place to another within the game. Providing you have visited a room, you can easily warp back there whenever you want in Dreamscaper. Considering that movement speed between dungeons is slow, you should use the fast travel system on the map in either realm whenever possible to save time.

In Dreamscaper you can craft gifts with the resources that Cassidy collects in her dreams. These gifts can then be given to the residents of Redhaven to build your relationships faster with them and also unlock new skills, weapons, and interactions. Each person will have preferences that determine how far you will advance the relationship with a specific gift. Your choice of gift for an individual should be determined by the conversations you have with them. You can find the residents of Redhaven at any random location at any time, you will usually have enough time to check all three locations (Bar, Cafe, Bookshop) when waking up. Certain resources can only be gathered in higher levels.
