At the Vs. Battle Menu, choose the bottom option. Then at the next screen hold X + Y and press Down + L + R

Be Original Godzilla

Hold L + R and press any button at the Monster Select screen

Be Mech Godzilla

Hold L + R and press any button twice at the Monster Select screen

Be Beta Godzilla

Hold L + R and press any button 3 times at the Monster Select screen

Be American Godzilla

Hold L + R and press any button 4 times at the Monster Select screen

Be Minilla

Hold L + R and press any button 5 times at the Monster Select screen

Be Dr. Serizawa
