Cheats, Tips and Strategy

Below is a collection of hints and tips that will help you solve the puzzles in in the game. These include choosing the best doctor at the start of the game and managing energy.

Choosing a Doctor

When you begin the game you will be given the option of choosing from three doctors. These doctors are Dr. Mario, Dr. Peach, and Dr. Bowser and whichever one you select will be your playable character until you have earned enough coins or diamonds to purchase a new one. Each doctor comes with two special abilites, one which can be used in Stage mode and the other in Versus mode. During the early stages of the game it is more beneficial to have Bowser as his ability can get you out of tricky situations during much of the early puzzles when you are close to running out of moves and do not have any matches on the stage to save you. Bowser also has decent Versus Mode stats in the Attack, Speed, and Defense categories which will make winning easier.

Dr. Mario

Stage Mode: Clears 1 row in the lowest position

Versus Mode: Clears the bottom one row.

Dr. Peach

Clears 1 random column in both Stage and Versus modes.

Dr. Bowser

Stage Mode: Clears 2 random horizontal rows.

Versus Mode: Clears 1 random horizontal step in Versus mode.

Using Pills

Deleting all the viruses is your main objective and you only have a limited number of pills with which to do it so you need to ensure you use them wisely as every move is crucial, especially in the tougher stages later in the game. Leftover pills once you have completed a stage will earn you bonus points which will go towards your star rating for that stage, which will determine the amount of coins you are rewarded.

Rotate Your Pills

Analyse the entire board when a stage begins, examine every virus, powerup, and stage obstacle you can and rotate your pill so it is in the desired direction before you launch it.

Place Your Pill in the Right Location

Once your pill is in motion on the board it will float upwards until it hits another object. Don't wait for this to happen, you can speed up the process by dragging the pill exactly where you want it to go. You can even put them in spots they wouldn not be able to float to.

Half Pills

Whenever you make a match that splits off the other colour attached to the pill you just matched, you either put it in its own location (as long as it is not moved any lower on the board than its current position) or use it to clear some viruses with a match.

Buy Assistants

Your doctor can have up to 2 Assistant characters who have attributes that will help you clear stages. The first Assistant will become unlocked naturally while you play through the stages while the second one must be purchased for 4,000 (in-game currency) coins or with real money.

Manage Energy

You will need energy in order to play in Stage mode, if you run out you will need to wait for it to regenerate. Waiting for energy to replenish is a slow process (it takes half an hour to earn one energy) so you need to make sure that you get the most out of each energy point by carefully considering each move. You do not need to worry about energy in Versus mode where there is no limit to the number of PvP matches you can play.

Understand the Stage Mechanics

The first 20 levels in the game are straightforward but once you start venturing into the later levels you will find them a lot more challenging and you will need to pay attention to the mechanics of each stage in order to progress. The best way to figure out how everything works in a level is to start off by launching a test pill to see what happens.

Complete Doctor's Orders

Doctor's Orders are various tasks that you can complete while playing games that give you the opportunity to earn more coins. Regularly check the list to see it there are any orders you can complete to earn some coins which you can use to unlock all the staff members (each character costs 4,000 coins).
